Fresh off WoooHa, Inc’s revealing of Mos Def modeling streetwear brand “Too Black Guys’” fall collection, comes news that Mos will soon launch his own clothing line under the Undrcrwn brand name. He has teamed with Undrcrwn designer Dustin Canalin to form “Mos Def designed by Dustin Canalin for Undrcrwn,” which will feature 14 pieces inspired by hip-hop duo Dead Prez’s 2004 album “RBG: Revolutionary But Gangsta.”

Mos Def has previously worked with Undrcrwn and even recently designed his Watermelon Syndicate shirt under the fashion label. I come from a place where how stylish or fashionable you were had nothing to do with how much money you had,” said Mos Def of his move into fashion. “Brands like Supreme are giving luxury brands a big run for their money. These types of brands represent a certain type of perspective and a new kind of status.

The fashion line is said to retail from $36 to $200 and will not be available until February 2009. The public will get a first look of the collection though when Mos Def will unveil it next week in Las Vegas during the Magic Fashion Trade Show.
