Righteous Kill was supposed to give 50 Cent the credibility in Hollywood that would help launch his acting career to the next level. Things got off to a rocky start though when WoooHa, Inc. revealed 50 was virtually erased from the marketing campaign and the studio would rely on DeNiro and Pacino to fill the theater seats. Unfortunatley, opening weekend results were a little under expectation as Righteous Kill was the #3 movie behind Burn After Reading and Tyler Perry’s The Family That Preys.
More important for Curtis Jackson though was the fact that the critics slammed him even though he played a club-owning drug dealer. Here are a couple of critic quotes from the press making fun of his performance. Luckily for him, 50’s next movie Streets of Blood is already done filming. Via: NY Mag
