50 Cent confirmed that he is currently filming a movie called Before I Self Destruct to accompany his upcoming album with the same name. 50 recently told Rollingstone Magazine the following:

It’s not Purple Rain … But it was inspired by the actual music … When [movies] portray certain lifestyles they don’t show cause and effect … But I showed characters under pressure in scenarios where they felt like there were no other options, even though there were … There are always options. People just usually start to see them while being incarcerated — for not seeing them in the first place.”

The new movie will hit theaters at the same time of 50 Cent’s last album under Interscope, “Before I Self Destruct,” on December 9th. 50 plans to use tracks not on his album because “Then Interscope would automatically have the rights to it, when they had absolutely no ownership of the actual material.” Instead he will write a separate score, get unsigned artists to record the vocals and keep 100% revenue from soundtrack profits. The details of the movie plot, actors and director are still not known. Currently there are no major film distributors owning rights to this movie meaning it will most likely be a limited distribution film or straight to DVD.
