Andre Benjamin officially launches Benjamin Bixby clothing line
September 11th, 2008 • Filed Under
Andre Benjamin made good on his promise to deliver a unique and stylistic debut clothing line with the introduction of Benjamin Bixby. The Bixby clothing line is inspired by late 1930’s college football documentaries and the official launch took place this past week at NY Fashion Week hosted by Charlize Theron. The fashion line is now available nationwide at Barney’s where you can even buy at Barneys.com where shirts and pants are in the $195 price range. Here is a closer look at the Fall/Spring collection. This looks like halloween shit i would wear. Love Andre but Ill pass on this……
Comment by TARN on 11 September 2008:
Ok so those pics might be a little extreme but if you go to that link to Barneys in the post those clothes are little more realistic for normal people to wear. But i think this line is all about NOT being normal to begin with.
Comment by E-Rod on 11 September 2008:
So I’m supposed to pay $200 for designer farmer clothes? No thanks.
Comment by Zed on 11 September 2008:

This stuff is hot like fire! But it’s just too damn expensive. $125 for a damn thermal…$1600 for a leather bomber jacket…$600 for a cardigan…come on Andre…what the hell are you thinking?
Comment by Mrs.3000 on 14 November 2008:

Comment by Todd Middleton on 18 January 2009:
I think Andre's style in clothing makes a bold and direct statement about what's going on inhis mind. With that being said, I think he's a boy genius and his clothing reflects that. Keep doing what you're doing and remember that CLONES ARE WRONG.
Comment by Todd Middleton on 18 January 2009:
E-Rod; sounds like a hater fragrance.
Comment by Todd Middleton on 18 January 2009:
Never trust a guy whos name is DRAGONZ. Sounds like a wack rapper. Oh, that is a wack rappers name.
Comment by Todd Middleton on 18 January 2009:
Succa you cheap.
Comment by Todd Middleton on 18 January 2009:
Preach Sista.
Comment by Joe Rugby on 21 January 2009:
Ok for the record if you dont like sum shit it aint hate, dam you ppl are sooo emotional.Everybody does not have to like it. Soon as someone doesn't like your shit now you say they hating, no u are A HATER, U HATE BEING REJECTED, CARRIED, BITCHED or however you interpret it. Take it as criticism and maybe step your RAP (or clothing ) Game up !!!! Fashion is subjective and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One mans trash is another mans treasure so for me this is trash you can treasure it all u want. Hip Hop gave Andre a pass and he is using it whether we like it or not.
Comment by G Johnson on 21 January 2009:
Such an eclectic show of fashion. I'm digging all his clothes. But this coming from someone who doesn't rock the same gear as the next man. I'm a trend setter not a trend follower. Andre is channeling his inner 20's avant garde fashion. A time when men dressed for the ladies and ladies appreciated it.
Comment by gameboi on 21 January 2009:
sorry bro, this is the wrong time for this shit.its way too expensive.most hiphopers can`t afford this, plus this ani`t hiphop anyways.the white people who can afford this don`t listen to him, plus they`ll rather wear Ralph Lauren.
Comment by gameboi on 21 January 2009:
no offense to white people, rather the rich who can afford it,don`t listen to his kinda music.
Comment by your worst nightmare on 22 January 2009:
A lot of people need to stop hating. So what if his line is not your style, move the fuck on. I bet what you're wearing a lot of people would find stupid. Open mindedness, people!!!!
Comment by EST on 24 January 2009:
see you completely missed the point, Andre is not just limited to hip hop and he's already proven that in his music. why on earth would you expect him to come out with another bland “hip hop clothing line” that looks just like everyone else? that has never been Dre's thing he doesn't follow the crowd and that youngin is hip hop. doing you and not what everybody else is doing
Comment by EST on 24 January 2009:
I would rock the leather hat, the polos, the B sweater, that green vest and maybe the blazers but I need a better look. I'm not wearing the suspender pants or a cloth striped belt.
Comment by IAM on 26 January 2009:
Hey, Todd Middleton: R U his PR person or something?? LOL
This line is FIRE! I takes a very creative and confident man to pull this off. Bandwagon-ers and phonies need not even try!
Comment by vomit_pail on 13 February 2009:
i love it. it is so old school prep. i love a3k's ability to blend the cheesy/hood with classic elegance
Comment by RetroBoss on 25 February 2009:
Just a heads up to anyone who might care.. I just copped a pair of the highwaisted jeans. I love them to death.. for us thick guys who arent satisfied with nut huggin nudies.. Bixbys are def the way to go.
Comment by fluff on 4 March 2009:
the idea is to think outside the box. take one key piece of bixby and mix it with your own staples. that's if you aren't entirely into a full bixby outfit.
you guys should be lucky. there are not a lot of cool men's lines out there that differ from the mass produced in the malls.
Comment by yungyacht on 11 March 2009:
I applaud Andre for presenting a non-traditional clothing line. “Our” designers are often put into a “hip-hop box” and packaged for a certain demographic using inferior fabric and ill-fitting design. From what I've seen I will definitely support his line.
Comment by yungyacht on 11 March 2009:
Some of it is a bit over the top but its Andre 3000 what do you expect. I wouldnt wear every article of the line, but alot of it I can work with… mix with a little Ben Sherman here, a little Mark Ecko Cut & Sew there; gotta work it out… NAH MEAN.
Comment by yungyacht on 11 March 2009:
actually gameboi ur wrong u would see more white ppl at an Andre show than you would see black. Outkast itself maybe a different story. The point is it has to be expensive, its all about exclusivity.
Comment by Moreo J on 29 April 2009:
I love the creativity. I admire his sense of exploration when it comes to style.
