The Express is based on the true story of Ernie Davis, the first African-American collegiate football player to win The Heisman Trophy. Set in the 1960’s, Rob Brown plays Davis, the RB for Syracuse who faced all obstacles on and off the field dealing his fair share of racism. The Express tells the story of Davis in a positive light but those who know their college football history, understand the tragic circumstances surrounding his post-college career. I won’t spoil it but click here if you want to know more. The Express hits theaters October 10th.
