Preview of T.I.’s AKOO clothing line

Seems like T.I. has been everywhere pushing his upcoming album “Paper Trail” due out on September 30th. He also has been using his recent increase in publicity to push his upcoming AKOO clothing line which stands for A King Of Ones Self and is due to hit stores in October or November. While T.I. has been featured in many You Tube videos promoting his clothing line, there still has been limited looks of the collection…until now. Here are some close up shots of T.I. in a recent fashion shoot for the AKOO clothing line. (Source)

Jay-Z looking into the Broadway musical business

Jay-Z has already ruled the hip-hop music world, the fashion world, and is a global icon. What else is there for him to do? What about take over the Broadway musical world? The New York Post‘s Michael Riedel reports Jay-Z is in talks to endorse an off-Broadway stage production called Fela. This endorsement could vary from Jay-Z just giving his stamp of approval to the musical or even possibly investing in it.

“Let me put it to you this way,” an anonymous source told Riedel. “If Jay-Z starts talking up the show anywhere, there are going to be a lot of people outside the theater every night.”

It’s no secret that Jay-Z’s influential power and endorsement would be worth millions. We all know if he endorses this musical and it does well, the rest of the hip-hop mogul crew will be lining up on Broadway looking for their piece of the pie. 50 Cent presents “Hair Spray”…it could happen.

The official “Fela” synopsis as follows:
In this new musical, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Bill T. Jones with a book by Jim Lewis and arrangements by Aaron Johnson and Antibalas, audiences are welcomed into the extravagant, decadent and rebellious world of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti. Using his pioneering music (a blend of jazz, funk and African rhythm and harmonies), Fela! explores Kuti’s controversial life as artist, political activist and revolutionary musician. Featuring many of Fela Kuti’s most captivating songs and Bill T. Jones’s imaginative staging, this new show is a provocative hybrid of concert, dance and musical theater.

Rihanna set to launch fashion line

Rihanna has always been front-and-center at every major fashion event around the globe and now we know why; to get inspiration for her own clothing line. Ri Ri recently revealed (say that ten times fast) to Women’s Wear Daily that she plans to launch her own designer fashion line in the near future. ‚ÄúI can‚Äôt say when it will be released, but it‚Äôs definitely going to happen. I‚Äôm not one to rush into anything. I want to take my time.‚Äù

We believe this is the same thing that Kanye said about Pastelle four years ago. So Rihanna fans, don’t hold your breath on this one. Regardless, it’s a smart move for Rihanna who is one of the few female R&B/urban artists to cross over into the mainstream and is set to capitolize on her large fan base. She already developed a line of umbrellas due to the popularity of her hit song and is known for eccentric but fashionable style.

Video: Unk’s “In Yo Face” featured in NBA 2K9 trailer

Like Rizoh, I have been a die hard fan of the NBA 2K series for the past couple of years. There are only two games I look forward to each year, Madden and NBA 2K. The 2K series continues to use hip-hop artists as its main driver having an exclusive song with The Cool Kids and now the main official trailer with Unk’s “In Yo Face.” Only two more weeks until show time. And no…I won’t switch to NBA Live!

The $7,500 Wu-Tang Clan shoe

We are assuming this is $7,500 for both shoes, not just the one pictured because $15,000 for a pair of shoes is just insane. $7,500 for a pair of shoes is much more reasonable. The legendary NY sneaker store Fight Club apparently has the impossible to find Nike “Wu-Tang” Dunk-Hi in size 11.5 only. One pair. We are pretty sure some kid with size 8 feet will buy them by the time this post goes up. Then he will get sneaker-jacked. Thanks to CtotheJL for the heads up.
