Steve Stoute, former manager of Nas and Interscope Records exec, will receive the most prestigious recognition in the advertising industry as he will be inducted into the Advertising Hall of Achievement later this November. The award is given by the ad industry’s oldest and most respected group the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Stoute is currently running Translation Advertising which is a joint company with Jay-Z.
“I really am a novice,” Stoute told Adweek. He also mentioned that his induction in the Hall of Achievement took him by surprise. Due to Corporate America’s recent fascination with hip-hop branded deals, Stoute has been pretty busy at his agency. His latest projects included Chris Brown’s single “Forever,” which also doubles as a Double Mint gum ad show here. Translation also developed the Reebok campaign with Jadakiss and Jay-Z.
Stoute will be the first inductee into the Advertising Hall of Achievement with a hip-hop background.  The induction further shows the influence hip-hop is having in the business and marketing world and that it is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Previous inductees include executives from major companies such as USA Today, Hummer,  Travelocity and Chevrolet to name a few.
