Terrence Howard was all set to take a much bigger role as James Rhodes in the upcoming Iron Man 2 where he eventually becomes the infamous War Machine. But now, Terrence will have to put those dreams aside as Marvel Studios has officially announced he is being replaced by Don Cheadle. Marvel had no official comment, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, negotiations with Howard fell through over financial differences, among other reasons.
Marvel, which had wanted to work with Cheadle, then decided to take the role in another direction and approached the actor who gladly jumped at the opportunity. I have always been a fan of Djay (WHOOP THAT TRICK!) but playing War Machine and the potential for a possible spin-off was an opportunity that could have elevated Howard’s status.

Marvel is known to be tight with the pocketbook though so it might not necessarily be Howard’s fault. They held out with getting Favreau back to direct as well since they were skimping on the paycheck. I agree though that it is a missed opportunity for Howard who is vastly underrated.
I’m okay with this. Cheadle is the man.
Poo, bad decision Marvel. Terrence is a much bigger draw than Don. Look at Traitor. LOL
Stop force feeding him to us. We don’t want!
