Video: Beyonce’s Samantha Thavasa ads and video

Japanese pop culture is very interesting. They sell panties in vending machines (granted they sell EVERYTHING in vending machines there), Keith Murray has Jay-z like status, Tom Cruise is still popular…oh and they are obsessed with Beyonce. Hand bag designer Samantha Thavasa has unveiled their new ad campaign that is centered on Beyonce and Japanese popstar Takuya Kimura.

According to Japan Today, the ads will appear in the brand’s 117 shops nationwide as well as on billboards across the country. Also, check out this video of Beyonce highlighting her recent promotional activity in Japan. She must have been paid a pretty penny for this promotion.

An inside look at Common’s new website ThinkCommon.com

Common has just officially announced the launch of his website and blog at ThinkCommon.com. In his video shown below, Common introduces us to his site as admits that he does not have as big of a web presence as he would like. But that’s about to change. Thankfully Common does not use the generic approach with the social networking sites that every artist these days is ripping from.

Common’s site can be best described as similar to Kanye West’s…which is a big compliment. You get a blog, tour info, bio, videos and can purchase music all from the home page. We are definitely looking forward to hearing more from Common in his blog as the guy always drops the mad knowledge. So make sure to check out and bookmark ThinkCommon.com now.

Taco Bell lawyers get nasty at 50 Cent

If you remember awhile back, Taco Bell sent a letter to 50 Cent asking him to change his name for one day to 79 Cent, 89 Cent or 99 Cent to help publicize its new value menu. As part of the promotion Taco Bell would donate $10,000 to the charity of his choice. Well the promotion fired back at Taco Bell as 50 Cent’s lawsuit happy legal team sued the fast food company.

Now Taco Bell lawyers are striking back as they just released a statement calling out 50 and dissing him as if they were Fat Joe and The Game rolled into one. The rapper is a ‚Äúself-described former drug dealer and hustler‚Äù whose ‚Äúgangsta rap‚Äù is associated with violent criminals, Taco Bell wrote to Manhattan Federal Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald. Interesting. If they feel he is just a drug dealer and hustler why did they ask him to be in the promotion in the first place? This is a perfect opportunity for Del Taco to step in and add a little seasoning to this “beef.” Ooohhh…that’s a good one.

More details on 50 Cent’s next movie “Dead Man Running”

WoooHa, Inc. dropped the news that 50 Cent would be starring in the upcoming crime action movie Dead Man Running almost two months ago. Now, further details have begun to surface. According to news source Reuters, Dead Man Running began filming in London yesterday.

In the movie, Curtis plays a notorious loan shark by the name of Thigo (yes that’s correct..Thigo) who rules the London underground. He targets a man who must pay him $150K or else that guy becomes a “dead man running.” No word if 50 will adourn a British accent…but that would turn this into a comedy. Movie is set for a Nov. 6, 2009 release date.
