The RZA sure is fast tracking quite a Hollywood career for himself. Just last week it was announced he was producing a remake of The Last Dragon and now RZA will find himself in front of the camera in Judd Apatow’s next comedy Funny People. Apatow is the mastermind behind “bro-mance” comedies such as 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Superbad.
RZA will have a small role in the movie which is about a comedian (Adam Sandler) who learns he has a terminal, inoperable health condition which motivates him to take a relatively green performer (Seth Rogen) under his wing as his opening act. Funny People is set for a July 31, 2009 release. We still have no clue as to what role RZA will play amongst all these comedians. But once we find out…we will let ya know!

RZA always plays himself. But can he really act at all?
Of course he can act! Didn’t you see him in American Gangster where he had two lines of dialogue?
Haha…I think he had a little more than two lines. (Or did he?). Regardless, RZA has actually been involved in movies for a minute now. Behind the scenes working on score and soundtracks. Now he is just taking it to the next level. And yes, I’m still waiting for that Bobby Digital movie.
Is anyone else tired of these “bromance” movies as you call em? Plus they for white folk. What RZA doin in a movie like this is beyond me.
Love, love, love RZA on the big screen. He’s so fine.
Nice post. Have bookmarked your blog and will be sure to come back soon!
