As we reported last month, Kanye West changed his much anticipated clothing line website from Pastelle.com to PastTellMuseum.com. This little change set off a flury of excitement, and confusion on the Kanye and hip-hop blogs and rumors that Kanye was doing away with his original clothing line name. Well, we at WoooHa, Inc. did some digging and have found out the real reason he changed his clothing brand name.

Apparently when Kayne first developed the idea for Pastelle and the logo over three years ago, his influence was going to be more of a casual line with modern influence and softer color tones…hence the softer sounding Pastelle clothing line. Since then, Kanye has revamped his clothing line and also has received backlash for its soft sounding name that reminds people of flowers and the color pink. Not good for a “hip, cutting-edge” clothing line.

It took Kanye over the past couple of years to develop true working designs that he was happy with. And these designs were edgier in style, contemporary and fashion forward. (see examples of the current collection here) Contemporary, sleek and clean with the style of designer Kim Jones. This is why the current Past Tell Museum logo has the cold, sleek background which reflects what he will now want his clothing line to come off as. And what do the logos on the current site mean? I was told…with all things Kanye…expect the unexpected. The only hint we got was that it will have something to do with an elaborate online viral marketing campaign. We will have more on Kayne’s plans to unveil his clothing line soon so come back for more!

Oh – and Kanye, if my sources are wrong hit, us up with the right info and don’t leave us hanging. We all know you read those blogs out there.
