Although Timbaland has contributed music and score to over 50 different movies, he has yet to venture beyond that in the film biz…until now. Billboard reports that Timbaland will be exec producing his first movie called Vinyl which is the¬† story of five young women facing life-altering decisions about their relationships with members of a rock band.

The movie will begin filming this Spring, directed by an indie director with numerous Sundance Film Festival awards. To that note, do not expect to see this movie in your local theaters. It is a very small production, no major studio will distribute it and it will have a limited marketing budget. In fact, the way they plan to promote the movie is through behind-the-scenes content designed for cell phones, iPhones and other hand held devices. With that said, it’s a start for Tim as he continues to venture into new businesses.
