SubscribeI got nothing but respect for little Jaden Smith getting his hustle on. As the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett he was bound to do some good things due to his genetics (like The Pursuit of Happyness). But this latest news, it’s not good at all…no Jaden, not at all.
Variety has confirmed that Jaden Smith is set to star in a remake of The Karate Kid. That’s messing with holy material right there. Minus well get the Jonas Brothers to do a remake of Boyz N The Hood next. Smith will star in a ‚Äúrefashioned‚Äù remake of the 1980‚Äôs classic with the film set to shoot next year in Beijing. The screenplay is said to ‚Äúborrow elements‚Äù from the original film, and is not a strict remake but will include a Mr. Miyagi type character.
I’m not mad at Jaden for this news. After all, the kid wasn’t even born. I’m mad at myself for ever liking The Karate Kid so much in the first place. “Yeeeeaaaahhhh Johnnny!!! Put em in a body bag!!!!” Just don’t touch House Party. The original that is. The other 50 versions of it don’t count.

Ha ha. A classic in its own right but will this even be called Karate Kid? Looks to me like it is a loose interpretation. They have to do away with these remakes and such though. Getting played out.

WDF…the kid is extremely too young to do a remake of karate kid, they are going to completely reck the movie franchise…they should Shia La Beouf..that guy looks like a karate kid..
I love Jaden Smith and feel he is a very talented actor but I also do not feel he should make this movie. You are right though Yeti he does not know Karate Kid but someone should tell him.
