Microsoft Zune has been aggressively marketing to the hip-hop crowd in 2008 which includes partnerships with Common, Bun B and Kidz In the Hall to name a few. Now Zune has added EPMD to that list with a unique marketing campaign dubbed “The EPMD Project.”
According to the official site, “The EPMD Project” is described as the following:
“The EPMD Art Project”, a collection of premiere international artists creating works inspired by EPMD.  Works from each artist will be presented on canvases and prints and auctioned off at a record release event and a listening party.  In Los Angeles, EPMD will team with Zune at their Zune L.A. space, offering guests the first opportunity to hear the new album and bid on the exclusive artwork.
Check out a couple of the art pieces that went up for auction already. All are inspired by the original logo created by artist HAZE. Via: ProHipHop
What do you think of Zune’s campaign with EPMD and developing an art collection around an artist logo? Is the Souja Boy logo collection next? Vote it now!

Its a cool idea but would only work for logos this iconic like Public Enemy. Otherwise logos dont carry a lot of weight in todays hiphop game.
its a great idea but i dont like zune. you go too hard then you pimpin yourself out. Apple never needed to do that but zune is too forceful. what happened to grassroots efforts.
good b/c its a tribute to one of the greatest rap groups of our time
HI I came across the site from ad age and Im loving it. As a marketer and a follower of hiphop I applaud your efforts for combining the two. I’m especially interested in your Vote for it functionality and what you intend to do with the data. That could be very powerful for companies to get their hands on.
With that said, I also go back to the EPMD era and this art is a great way to celebrate their place in hiphop history. So thumbs up for me.
THat first one is the only one I’m impressed with
I’m digging the last one.
