The minute I saw Keisha I thought, WOW – she could play Aaliyah. Who are these people that look “exactly” like Aaliyah? I don’t think the point is that they look just like her. Everyone all of a sudden has a sister or cousin who looks and sings like Aaliyah. No one knows what went on behind the scenes in regards to picking Keisha. She was chosen by people who worked work Aaliyah and knew her well. To me, that says a lot more than a stranger with no ties.

I glad that she is finally getting the recognition that she deserves. Aaliyah was one of hip hop’s prized treasures and we need to remember as the angel she was!!! In order to do that we have to know the whole story!!! This movie isn’t exploitation!! Its giving her fans what they have been asking for!!! We have been wanting this for a very long time!! Keshia Chante is perfect for the part because she has an uncanned resemblance to Aaliyah and I believe that if she works hard at it that she will not let us don’t!!! BabyGirl Is a great name for the movie and Would you just let her shine!!! Stop hating!!!

I really want Keshia to play Aaliyah & I’ve been praying, wishing & hoping that she will play her in the movie & give Babygirl the justice she deserves. Keshia CAN Learn Aaliyah’s personality & traits & all of the great qualities that made Aaliyah Aaliyah (Interactions w/ family & friends, style in clothes, dance moves, etc.) I have faith in Keshia Chante & I know for a fact she will do a GREAT job on the movie. I want a statement from Blackground Records & the Haughtons to see what’s really going to happen. I understand that the Haughtons want to let Aaliyah rest in peace & keep her out of the media (Myspace, Facebook, YouTube, TV, etc.) but I hope around August 25th of this year they will release a statement & say what’s really going to happen. Y’all should NOT worry about Keshia singing b/c she will NOT sing in the biopic b/c it’s supposed to have a Selena-type vibe, so they’re gonna have Aaliyah’s music in the movie b/c that is the only way Aaliyah can be physically apart of the movie but I’m pretty sure Keshia will have a song or two on the soundtrack. I wish that everyone would quit hating on Keshia & she said that she would do whatever it takes to perfect & nail a role like this even though she can’t say anything about the movie & she said that Aaliyah was an inspiration to her & that Aaliyah influenced her as artist so please do NOT hate on Keshia & everyone involved w/ the movie I think I know what they are doing & where they are going w/ the movie & how it’s going to be done

Your right sexy Oprah they should have an open casting search.I heard they are not 100% sure she can do it thats why she wont comment on it like she says.I heard they are trying to decide if Kesha Chante,Lisa Tucker from american idol ,or Lujza Abylane a new york city theater actress should get the part.

Lujza Abylane is a new york city theater actress who looks just like Aaliyah.They cant get any closer than that.Shes sexy ,Beautiful,sultry,talented ,just like Aaliyah.They need to do an open casting call like they did with the movie Selena.Thats their best bet.This girl is cute but theres nothing mysterious about her.They need to cast an unknown to play Aaliyah .Kesha might not be that fsmous but she most def.. not an unknown . They need to try try try again.Next!!!

Why all the bull over a movie? who cares how long its been and how long it hasn't been Aaliyah was talented and very beautiful, she deserves a movie Aaliyah worked her but off to get where she was, like other artist and she deserves a biography. I am a fan and always well be, even after death she still lives on in all of us through her music and her movies, Aaliyah has captured so much it's sad that her life was cut so short. Baby Girl was well on her way to something big, she was about to blow up, but GOD had something better planned and even thogh we ask Why? as I find myself doing, life goes on so I think the movie is a good idea. I believe thats what she would have wanted. HER LIFE ACCOMMPLISHMENT, LIFE ACHIEVED in such a short time. YOU ARE TRULY MISSED.
