?uestlove wrote about it in his blog a couple weeks back but then all record of his claim that The Roots were going to become the new houseband for NBC’s famed “The Late Night Show” were erased. But now it’s official. Jimmy Fallon, future host for “The Late Night Show” in March 2009 officially introduced The Roots as the new house band in this clip. Is this a good move for them? One thing is for sure, they at least will have a steady job and can take advantage of their newfound mainstream exposure. Via: The Rap Up

it will get them a lot of press and mainstream exposure. also hopefully they will use this platform as a way to display their creativity.. they deserve 3x plat album sales at the least and hopefully this helps them achieve that goal.
@RISK – I agree all the way. They are one of the most underappreciated bands not just in hip-hop but in all of music.
Im still not sure about Mr. Fallon though
Yea 2nd and 3rd that. Roots crew is ill.
BUt they still will get criticized for “selling out” but what ever man they got a gig EVERY day so they must be happy b/c you know they gettin paid for this man
This mean Conan is getting Disturbing Tha Peace as his house band? Better yet what about Wu Tang?
roots too grounded (haha) to get it to there heads
I’m looking forward to seeing where this takes them. They can really become household names now if they want. They aren’t about the PR though so who knows if they really want it.
I like Jimmy! Good choice …
