If B.I.G. can do it, well then I guess so can Aaliyah. As WoooHa reported back in December, singer Keisha Chante secured the role of Aaliyah for an upcoming biopic. Rumors originally had it that the movie was going to be small budget but things have changed. Bill Condon, director of the Beyonce and J-Hud movie Dreamgirls and writer of the movie Chicago is now attached to the film. What does this mean for the project? It means it’s going to be a big time legit movie.

Condon is a VERY powerful man in Hollywood who is also known to attract bigtime talent to his projects. According to Bossip, Condon has already secured Timbaland, Ginuwine and Missy E. to appear in the film and play themselves. Even Hype Williams is on board to recreate Aaliyah’s final video shoot.

Meanwhile Condon has put Chante through some rigorous training. He states:

“We are going to great extremities to make this movie perfect. We have (Keisha) Chante in extensive… …training studying, speaking with family members, watching personal footage and in choreography training with Aaliyah’s choreographer and dear friend Fatima Robinson. This movie will will be seamless the same way it was for Selena fans who enjoyed Jennifer Lopez.”

No word yet on name of the movie or when it will start filming but just writing about it is making me miss that girl and “Rock the Boat.” Peace. Let’s just hope R. Kelly doesn’t make an appearance.
