You might have seen this ad running if you have been watching college football the past couple of days. We can confirm that this subtle “G” TV ad featuring various pro athletes, and even the JabbaWockeez, is indeed the kick-off to Gatorade’s new branding campaign. It is also confirmed that Lil Wayne is the narrator of this ad as Gatorade will push their new branding with an emphasis on “attitude,” “hustle” and choice.

As a result, Gatorade will do away with the Gatorade – Thirst Quencher tag line and revamp it simply as Gatorade G. The company lists the reason for the rebranding:

Gatorade G is the same scientifically formulated Gatorade Thirst Quencher that has provided advanced hydration and performance benefits to athletes and active people for more than 40 years. Gatorade Thirst Quencher has a new attitude, and we put the letter “G” front and center on our packaging, along with our iconic bolt. G represents the heart, hustle, and soul of athleticism – and is a badge of pride for anyone who sweats, no matter where they’re active.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion as to what this ad is all about. A genius marketing campaign for Gatorade? Is having Wayne as the new voice of G a smart thing? Vote it on the Trendz Report.
