An unlikely partnership between America’s biggest hip-hop star and America’s largest phone company has now been formed. Lil Wayne and AT&T will work together to launch Wayne’s next album “Rebirth” which will show Wayne’s rock music side. As part of the promotional deal, AT&T will exclusively show a Wayne concert in San Diego, which will be streamed live on AT&T’s FREEdom of Choice and Mobile Music Facebook pages at 9:40 p.m. PST on Jan. 28.

According to Billboard, the ringtone to his first single off the album “Prom Queen” will be available to AT&T customers for purchase via text or through the AT&T Media Mall from handsets or online. This exclusive offer will run through Feb. 2. AT&T customers can also download the full track via text.

In a bitter fight for the mobile market, the previously conservative phone company has become more aggressive in targeting the urban community. Ludacris signed a lucarative muli-million dollar promotional deal with AT&T last year although the ad campaign has yet to fully launch. Wayne’s wide-spread popularity was a huge draw for AT&T execs who overlooked his shady past in hopes of drawing in new customers. Props to InMyStateofMind for the heads up.
