Cee-Lo will now be taking his eclectic taste and talent to help push coke…excuse me Coca-Cola in their new ad campaign entitled “Happiness.” The campaign utilizes the partnership between Coca-Cola and Warner Music as other Warner artists including Travis McCoy and Janelle Monae will be joining Cee-Lo in the campaign.
Kicking things off in March, the artists will be releasing a single called “Open Happiness.” Coke will be promoting the song by placing Cee-Lo’s smiling face all over Coke cans on a global scale. 20 BILLION cans of Coca-Cola to be exact. No offense to Cee-Lo but dude would scare me from picking up a can with his mug on the front. Via: Songs for Soap
WoooHa.com drops another exclusive. For those who remember, 50 Cent announced the launch of his new film production company Cheetah Vision at last year’s Sundance Film Festival. Although 50 is promoting Cheetah Vision at this years event (video below) it’s not really new news. What is new are the projects that 50 has “acquired” in the meantime. In recent interviews, 50 reveals Cheetah Vision has acquired the script to produce Nick Cage’s boxing movie The Dance.
Thing is, that script has been around since August of 2006 when Cage and 50 were both attached to star in the movie and it was going to be produced by Violator Management AND G-Unit Films. That’s right…this movie was always a G-Unit Films collab from the beginning with Violator co-producing. In fact Chris Lighty and Mona Scott were producers. Ummmm…so what happened to G-Unit Films you ask?
G-Unit Films was a collaboration between 50, Interscope and Violator Management. Whatever profits 50 earned under the G-Unit Films banner would be chopped and screwed with all parties leaving 50 with less control and less money. Under the agreement even Buck, Yayo and Banks got a cut. The company also lacked any industry insiders who really knew how to produce and launch a movie which is one of the main reasons the film banner failed to successfully launch any projects. When G-Unit Films folded, so did all the rights to their scripts, including The Dance. And so….enter the days of Cheetah Vision and Randall Emmett.
By shutting down G-Unit Films, 50 was able to sever his film producing contract ties and start anew. This would free him up to pick his own projects and make more money as a true independent producer under his new Cheetah Vision banner. Curtis met movie producer Randall Emmett while filming Righteous Kill. Emmett brings a legit presence to 50′s new production house as he has produced films such as 16 Blocks and Street Kings. And what was one of the first goals of Cheetah Vision? To buy back the rights to The Dance. And that’s the truth.
So basically 50 bought back the script he originally owned from the G-Unit Films days. But by forming Cheetah Vision he was able to cut out all the others on the G-Unit Films payroll and instead, he and Emmett will profit directly. I have to admit I’m not a big 50 fan anymore but you have to give him props for the moves he is making in the film industry and handling his business. No more hand outs! So the real reason Curtis launched Cheetah Vision? To make more money! Hope G-Unit, or what is left of them, don’t have any ill feelings.
You can check the behind the scenes video of Jeezy’s new ad campaign with Belvedere that we posted yesterday. Well now we have the official photos taken by famed photographer Terry Richardson for the print ads. Kanye West had a meeting of the minds at a Los Angeles KFC to discuss his plans to take over the street wear world with his Pastelle clothing line. Just don’t price it too high Kanye…or face the Bixby curse!¬† In attendance at the Street Wear elite KFC meeting were Matt George who is running Kanye’s Pastelle line, Chris Julian (Fruition) and Taz Arnold (Sa-Ra).
While leaving said KFC meeting, the paparazzi started to get on Kayne’s nerves but no cameras were broken this time. WoooHa.com can elusively report that plenty of Hot Wings were ordered. Via: CtotheJL
Kanye West’s blog was the main point of discussion at the recent MidemNet conference in Cannes. The conference explores current trends in the internet space and Kayne’s blog was discussed as a huge hit both as a way for an artist to connect with the fan and as a way to make some serious money. According to Billboard:
Bryan Calhoun, VP of new media and external affairs at Sound Exchange, is a consultant to Kanye and states the rapper is “very active with communicating with his fans” on his blog and sometime posts seven or eight times a day. His music recommendations on the site have made him something of a tastemaker, or “curator for what is cool” according to Calhoun.
Calhoun even addressed the rumors that Kanye uses a ghost-blogger by stating “It’s definitely him. It’s totally authentic. You can’t pay to put things on there [West's recommendations] — people have tried.”
Calhoun declined to say who had tried to offer Kanye money to post on his site. Ummmm….Kanye can I have my $10 back? You never linked to WoooHa. Bastard.

Actor Joaquin Phoenix might have played music legend Johnny Cash in Walk the Line, but he probably wished he could have played B.I.G. in Notorious. A couple months back, Phoenix announced his retirement from acting to concentrate of his music. Who knew he meant RAP music. No joke. Phoenix has already recorded beats, lyrics and is trying to enlist Diddy to help him with production.
And just this past Friday he made his hip-hop concert debut in Vegas. First video is of his drunken performance, second video is much more amusing…it’s of him falling off the stage. Before his performance, Phoenix told PEOPLE Magazine:
“After all the years of reading scripts and reading lines, this is my chance to do something straight from the heart and put it out there. When I was young I liked punk rock music but then I discovered rap. I love the storytelling aspect of hip-hop.”
No word if Diddy will actually respond to Phoenix’s request to work with him but from the looks of his video the actor is going to need a lot more help than just Diddy.
