Ok trusty WoooHa readers – I need your help! As you might have noticed, I have been messing around with two different layouts for the site. Both pertain to only the left hand side “news” section. The two layouts are as follows:
LIST LAYOUT: Is what I currently have up now where all posts are listed and “teased.” If you want to read more, watch the video or look at the pics you must click on the entry.
BLOG LAYOUT: (Shown below) All entries are listed out so you can see videos directly on the page and read more about it as well. This is a traditional blog layout.
Ok now….which layout style do you like and why? The LIST layout (current) or the BLOG layout shown below? (Just pay attention to the left side). If you could let me know what you think that would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Hmmmm I still like the original look of the List. That way I can see everything at once. I think someone said it before, the blog style is just like any other blog.
I actually liked the blog look you did last week or so. It was easy to read and the videos were right there. Thats my vote.

Blog style – I like being able to play the vids right away and see everything.
I prefer the blog style. Easier access to videos. That's my vote.
I know that everyone else says that the blog style is where it's at but their living in a glass box. Trust me, the blog style is overated. The present layout is good, one thing I would say though is that if with either style you need to reduce the amount of entries on each page by like 20-25%. Since you have so much valuable and unique material, less is better and it keeps the viewers guessing and curious. Just my opinion.

why not combine the 2 – feature a few in the list and link to the blog style for all the videos
Hybrid. Expand the entries for the current day or maybe just a set number (three?). Collapse older ones. You can read what's new right away and if you need to play catch up on reading, it's still there.
This seems like the best idea. That way you still highlight what is new.
2nd that. Have your first couple of posts maybe as full listed blog items showing the video. Then the rest are still listed out as normal.
If not, I like the blog style then just b/c I get everything I want right away too. Sorry. I'm lazy.

i like the list because i can see all the post u done for the day
but the blog style does take space
but wit the list tho, u can see what people click on the most, and sometimes the blog style doesnt allow you to know what content people are most attracted to,
so i think the list style is better! for the simple fact people can see everything at once and having that list style will have visitors stay at your site longer when u think about it…cuz blog style give people a glace on the content, list style makes people have to read the content

Yeah Yeti, I agree with Inmystateofmind as well. Alot of times I not only come to read the content but I am also intrigued by the comments that people post on certain articles. I was talking to my friend the other day and he sai the same thing. When you see the comment count going up your first instinct is to see what people said about that particular article. I think that having the comment count is one of the biggest draws to me on Woooha.com. I love to see what people say, so in essence I think the list style should stay! If you put in any remnants of a blog on the home page it will detract from everything else you post however, you might be able to pull it off. There are some websites out there that I have seen have done it successfully but to me. Interaction is the key!!

Oh yeah Yeti, one more thing I would recommend is that you all 3 columns level. At my site, if you notice the home page, I have made everything balanced. On the far left column I added some extra space tothe Kicks R Us section to have an equal balance between all columns. Also, I think that you might want to consider moving the mog network info off of the home page because people will leave your site.
