Chris Brown x Bone Deep. All the blogs and news sources have been covering the fact that Chris is losing endorsement deals left and right, but now his check book is about to hurt even more as his once rising film career is now in serious trouble as well. Rumor has it that Sony Screen Gems, the studio that is releasing Chris’ next movie Bone Deep, is going to basically “erase” Chris from their marketing campaign.
The crime/action thriller which comes out Jan 8, 2010 was originally going to heavily market stars T.I. and Chris Brown to the urban demo but now T.I. will ironically be the main attraction (even though he’s going to jail) along with broader reaching actors Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen. Unofficial word has it that Chris will be “erased” from marketing material such as the movie poster, trailer and TV ads to avoid any controversy. The movie has already finished filming in Los Angeles so Chris will still be in the movie but just don’t expect to see much of him in the advertising.
Yeti says: This is bad news for Chris’ acting career. Being shunned from the music industry is one thing but Chris had a rising film career with his “boy next door” persona going on for him. If the rumors are true then he will lose millions in movie contracts from this fallout. The fact that he will be “erased” from this movie is just the first sign that Hollywood studios will be avoiding him like the plague as well. Chris’ agents and managers are hoping big time (and expensive) Hollywood PR man Alex Nierob can help save his career though…or what’s left of it.

Being a woman and having lost and aunt to domestic violence and have seen friends beat up by those who suppose to love them. I dont condone what Chris Brown did, it was wrong plain and simple. I must agree with you about the media. However, we must look at the bigger picture here. As African Americans/Afro-descendant, we are quick to tear down our so called brothers; yet, had it been a white woman, we would have taken the side of this black man…Or…gone opposite and said because he chose a white woman, he deserves all that is coming to him. We (African American or Afo-descendant) as a race believe so much and yet, stand for so little…at least where it counts!!!! Here the media is spewing this story because it's getting them desirable ratings, yet, not once has anyone stopped to questioned the validity of this ongoing story/propoganda. Yes!!! Domestic Violence is a very big and serious problem. However, no one has mentioned the rappers/producers/family members that have participated in such violations against women…where is their condemnation???? Biggie, Big Pun, Dr. Dre, Cousin Ray Ray, Uncle Junebugg, etc. to name a few were known for hitting women for “being out of pocket!!!” Let's stop acting brand new, it occurs everyday and yet and still, no one denounces that behavior nor are they testifying in favor of the victim, in the belief you'd be considered a SNITCH! Thank you…..I so agree with you. I have always been a fan of Chris Brown and I was in a abusive relationship when i was pregnant with my first child. I wasn't raised in that kind of household so the first time he hit me and then kicked me in my stomach, I left. She said this wasn't the first time he'd hit her, why not leave? In every picture of her and Chris she looked happier than he did…..hmmmmm? But i'm still playing his music, watching his movies nothing has changed for me. Even the truth won't change the fact that I think he makes good music. All I can do is pray and hope that he finds his way without her.

*****I don't think that I agree totally with everything you said. First off it's wrong for you to say that someone whose been in an abusive relationship is sucker. I've never been in any type of abusive relationship but I can definitely understand why they would never be able to forget it. You're supposed to forgive people – that much is true – but you're never supposed to forget it. I can see if they use that hurt and take out their frustrations on someone else, then yes they have issues that obviously need to be worked out, but some people use those past experiences to make them stronger and to possibly help someone is. You're making an assumption and that's not fair to the people who tell their story and do that in hopes of possibly helping someone else.
*****As for the second statement you made: i'm not speaking for everyone but from my own personal experiences – in my family the girls are massively outnumbered by boys and one thing that i learned at an early age is how to talk a lot of smack to people lol that's just the way the majority of the men in my family are. however, along with that i also learned that if i was going to talk smack to people, boys and/or girls, i needed to be able to back it up. that's one thing my father, uncles, male cousins, etc. made sure to teach me and i learned it the hard way. my father always told me that when it came to boys, especially my cousins since we always argued a lot, that if i thought i was big and bad enough to hit a boy/man then i better BE PREPARED to get hit back. he never said that i was going to definitely get hit back but just that i needed to be prepared.
