50 Cent x The Expendables. Well you should know the story by now. 50 Cent accepts movie role in Sylvester Stallone’s action flick The Expendables. One day later 50 is dropped and replaced by Terry Crews. One day after that 50 says he was the one who dropped the movie so he could concentrate on his music. But we had heard otherwise right from the beginning.
Word is that Sly Stallone was very anxious to secure 50 Cent to broaden the appeal of the movie and he was so proud when 50 verbally committed to the movie that Sly went directly to Aint It Cool News and told the site. Apparently he did not get the reaction he hoped for as news spread like wild fire and the bloggers (including us) began slamming 50 Cent and Sly’s casting choice. WoooHa heard here in Hollywood that Sly was so disturbed by the immediate reaction, especially since he thought fans would rejoice, that he panicked and quickly killed the deal with 50 Cent and found Terry Crews to replace him.
The LA Times ran a separate story that confirms our findings. The paper had contacted Avi Lerner, producer on the film who states:
“They (50 and Sly) had a good meeting and we all thought Sly liked him,” Lerner explained. “But the next thing I knew, Sly changed his mind. I don’t know what happened — maybe someone put some doubt in his head.”
But could that doubt have really come from the reaction in the blogosphere? “I think the answer is yes and no,” Lerner said. “Maybe it was what the bloggers were saying. Directors are always worried about how people are going to react to their choices, so they’re always influenced by reaction, whether it’s from fans, bloggers or critics. I think they’re in a very vulnerable place when they’re trying to make these decisions, so you never know what’s going to influence them.”
But of course this is Hollywood which is why no one will EVER admit if this is the real reason why 50 is no longer in the movie. What we do know for a fact though is if 50 really wanted to concentrate on his music why was he taking muliple meetings with Stallone for this role in the first place?

You mean so for once a director listened to the actual movie audience? NO WAY!!! Seriously. That is a first. Good for Sly.
See thats what I always thought too cuz it was just too shady that all of a sudden Curtis would change his mind.
Those damn bloggers!

50 Cent [Probably] Booted from The Expendables…
Just heard about the news that 50 Cent was replacing [not] Forest Whitaker in The Expendables, written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, which fits 50 much better than Forest Whitaker. You know, one bad actor directing another bad actor. 50 Cent turn…
and here i thought he got dropped because he is a terrible actor
WOW..I seen the other cast listed and I dont think he was dropped because of his acting skills. He seems to fit right in with everyone else….If anything, 50 created a buzz for this movie, which probably would have been looked at as a wack a** movie….Not saying 50 would have made it better, but he has made this viral and Sly should appreciate that…
bottom line though gabriel is no one pays to see 50 cent movies. Get rich or die tryin?
50 be hated on because he got that Monkey Swagger. Those tight asses can't deal with that…
