N.W.A. x New Line Cinema. Back in 1996, New Line Cinema took a risk green lighting a film called Set If Off which featured the film debut of a one Andre Young AKA Dr. Dre playing the role of Black Sam. Since New Line gave him that initial opportunity, Dre has been kicking it with New Line ever since. He signed a production deal with the studio a couple years back and now his first major project has finally been announced, a N.W.A. biopic.
Our studio sources at New Line say the film, called Straight Outta Compton, has been in development stages for awhile now but with the Biggie movie, and announcements of a Tupac flick and a Run DMC one as well, it was time for New Line to go public. Under the current deal structure, the film would be a three-way production deal with Cube Vision (Ice Cube’s production company), Dr. Dre and Eazy-E’s widow Tomica Wright. All three have current production companies which leaves Ren and Yella with a smaller piece of the pie.
Yeti says: There still is a lot of potential for this film deal to fall apart. Three separate producers all equally involved will make negotiations and deal points an interesting process. WoooHa was the first to exclusively break the news about The Vapors movie coming to an end due to relationship issues and the same could happen here. Regardless, it was important for New Line to seed the news to get an indication if there will be any heat behind this. As a West Coast “G” I say hellz yea.

Would Cube and Dre play themselves? Cube has the most acting experience but then it wouldnt make sense to have him as the only real actor.
Another biopic..ugh, I know the tupac one is coming out soon too…and the biggie one was just released..a break is needed..
talkin about biggie..I had to make a 'top 8 biggie songs' post for today (his anniversary), but these are underrated tracks so they might be new to an average fan

This already came out. CB4!!!!
They should do a CB4 vs. NWA spin off too.
If the acting is right this could be a good one like Boyz N The Hood style meets real life
[...] N.W.A. biopic in the works with New Line Cinema [...]
So then keep Chris Rock as Eazy-E.
I hope they do good research from jerry heller’s book and go in kelly park, south central and rens and yellas hoods to get the real. Let’s make it real who ever gets mad. People might get upset but they will respect all of the key movie producers in their role.
