Andre 3000 x Class of 3000. Andre Benjamin’s Cartoon Network hit “Class of 3000″ still has such a devoted following that the show has now been adapted for a live musical stage show. “Class of 3000 Live!” is now playing at the Alliance Theatre at the Woodruff in Atlanta until March 29th. The stage show is officially supervised and endorsed by Andre Benjamin himself. Check out the video here for a preview and interviews with some of the actors.

Big Boi went on record yesterday with his Dungeon Family crew stating that they are all working on a Dungeon Family movie together. That’s news to me. Also because I had no idea that the Dungeon Fam was still around and on good terms with Big Boi. No word on what this movie is about but once we get details you know we will deliver. Common x The Corner. Common just announced the launch of the first national online book club for teens which he is calling The Corner. The goal is to help motivate young teens to sharpen their minds, read a book and be able to discuss it in an open forum. Official press release states:

Each month, The Corner educational team chooses a book-of-the-month that conveys messages of tolerance, compassion and non-violent expressions of achieving social justice. Through lively discussions about the world of books through “Let’s Talk,” The Corner book club blog, members are encouraged to discuss, debate, critique, and comment on the selected material.

The official Corner website, will also feature celebrity guests who will share their favorite books and stories with the members of the book club. This is a good look for Common. He continues to be a positive online influence when hip-hop is now more known for their online beefs.

For all those non Cali folk out there, the West Coast hip-hop scene might be known for Dre, Snoop, The Game, etc. who are holding it down…but there is a whole slew of other underground West Coast rappers who get their paid dues in this new documentary called This Is the Life. Flick takes a deeper look into the 1990′s alternative music movement called The Good Life that embraced harmony and hip-hop with artists like Jurassic-5, Freestyle Fellowship, Pigeon John and more.
