DJ Hero responds back to Scratch: The Ultimate DJ

I told you earlier today that the DJ video game wars were brewing. Right now I would say we are at Code Yellow still as things are starting to get interesting but so far no innocent hip-hop gamers have been hurt. Earlier today we showed you the first trailer to Scratch: The Ultimate DJ and now Activision’s DJ Hero has responded in kind.
Reps for the DJ Hero game sent us a quick note with information about the upcoming DJ Hero website which you can preview now. At this stage it is just a teaser but expect full details about the game in the near future. Rumor has it that mash ups and mixing will be a bigger part of DJ Hero as they are enlisting the likes of DJ Shadow, Daft Punk and Z-Trip to name a few. Scratch will focus more on the hip-hop genre and the skill of scratching. We will have more info along with tracklistings soon along with any updates.
“Scratch: The Ultimate DJ” videogame trailer
If you are a gamer then you know all about the Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero wars. Well a new war is brewing now for the battle of the virtual DJ. In one corner is “Scratch: The Ultimate DJ” endorsed by turntable company NuMark and Beastie Boys DJ Mix Master Mike with a soundtrack featuring tracks from Kanye West, Run DMC to Black Eyed Peas.
In the other corner is Activision’s DJ Hero which we hear won’t have much of an emphasis on hip-hop. We have more to come from DJ Hero but in the meantime check this brand new trailer for The Ultimate Dj from our friends at the Koalition.

Complex has some great photos so check em out there. And by “great” photos, I mean the sneakers are well photographed. The actual sneakers? Ehhh…not so great. The photo gallery also includes notes on design and color of the Yeezy as well.
More photos of Common from “Terminator: Salvation”

Common x Terminator: Salvation. I think this is about the third or fourth photo we have posted of Common holding a gun from the upcoming Terminator: Salvation. But Warner Bros. just sent these over so it would be a shame not to post. Plus I can’t pass up not posting this one. Awww the kid is so cute….

A look at the entire UNDRCRWN “Mos Def Collection”

Mos Def x UNDRCRWN. We showed you a preview last week but now UNDRCRWN has just officially released the first series of their Mos Def Collection which are seven different t-shirt designs. UNDRCRWN designer Dustin Canalin states:
“We took Mos Def’s DNA and applied it to ours. Many of the items incorporate the colors and cover print from the 2004 Dead Prez album Revolutionary But Gangsta, but also include personalization from Mos Def‚Äôs own life. A lot of it is just playing around with the unexpected, and saying, ‚ÄòPeople always do this, let‚Äôs go a completely different route.‚Äô”
The collection will be released in two phases, starting with the t-shirts. Check out the rest of the first installment from the Mos Def Collection after the jump. Continue Reading…
