50 Cent book finally coming after two year delay

UPDATE: RapRadar continues to bring the heat. They have an exclusive excerpt from the book.

50 Cent x The 50th Law.
50 Cent’s book with the author of “The 48 Laws of Power,” Robert Greene will finally be hitting stores after a two year delay. The book releases Sept. 9th and was plagued by numerous issues including major re-writes. Greene recently talked about these issues:

“It’s hard to do the business thing with 50 because he’s so exceptional. Like, what are you gonna learn about a guy from South Side Queens who then becomes a hip-hop artist…That version also had other weaknesses.”

I don’t know Mr. Robert Greene but from this quote one might assume that the word “exceptional” actually means “difficult.” Regardless we are looking forward to this book and hope it’s worth the wait. Via: DR

New pics of Will.I.Am as Wraith in “X-Men Origins”

Will.I.Am x X-Men Origins: Wolverine. X-Men Origins finally hits theaters this coming Friday and Will.I.Am’s role as the teleporting mutant cowboy John Wraith is apparently a pretty large role from what I’m hearing. Here is a new pic of him from the movie with Wolverine Logan.

T-Pain performs SNL song “I’m on a Boat” in concert

T-Pain x SNL. T-Pain’s SNL music video “I’m on a Boat” with Lonely Island was a pretty funny look at the hype of rappers on boats. But Mr. Pain has taken it to the next level by actually performing the song live…in front of people. Complete with random guys in capes “swimming” on stage. I really don’t know what to think. Props to Marrs for the heads up.

Exclusive: Sears shutting down LL Cool J Clothing line

UPDATED: After many attempts of trying to reach them directly, a spokesperson for Sears has reached out to us refuting the claims that LL’s clothing line is shutting down. Their official statement as follows:

Sears values its partnership with LL Cool J and will continue its commitment to providing the LL Cool J collection to its customers, both in-store and online. The collection is characterized as affordable, iconic apparel for the family and represents an important breakout brand in Sears’ wide assortment of tees, denim and hoodies.

Our source still says it’s true and it sure wouldn’t be the first time that company public relations says one thing but their own staff says another.

LL Cool J x Sears. WoooHa drops another exclusive and unfortunately it’s not good news…for LL Cool J. In case you haven’t noticed, LL has basically been silent about his Sears clothing line for the past year…and for good reason. A source at the apparel buying department at Sears has exclusively revealed to us that the LL Cool J clothing line is indeed shutting down due to a lack of sales and forced cutbacks from the Recession. We got the drop way back in February but WORD ON THE STREET is now it looks like it’s official.

The benefit to the consumer though is that Sears is drastically cutting prices of all LL Cool J branded apparel from 50%-75% off to clear all existing in-store inventory. Check the official Sears site to directly purchase. Sears had invested millions in bringing LL in as an official spokesperson which included ad campaigns and in-store merchandising. Unfortunately the Recession took a big hit out of his sales and the label never recovered. WoooHa is still waiting for an official response from Sears Corporate to confirm these claims.

Some how I think LL will get over it. Wait…he already did. LL will be starring in the upcoming “NCIS” spin off TV show later this year.

Swizz Beatz helps launch Hennesy Black label

Swizz Beatz x Hennessy Black.
Swizz Beatz and Hennessy have teamed up as the producer/rapper will help launch the limited Hennessy Black label to the marketplace. The key to the promotion is Swizz’s single “When I Step In The Club” which prominently promotes Hennessy Black and is directed by Hype Williams.

Part of the promotions include integrated on and offline marketing efforts. According to an official statement:

“Last week, professional dancers surprised club goers in four major markets when they performed an original “UP/DOWN” dance routine to the new Swizz Beatz song. Following the dance, consumers were handed an all-black business card that directed them to the Hennessy Black website, where they could check out the new Swizz Beatz video and original song, drink recipes and in the coming weeks, videos of consumers creating their own “Up/Down” dance.”

“These clips will also be posted to the Hennessy Black YouTube channel, where consumers will be able to vote for their favorites from each city. The most popular dancers will be flown to LA, where Hype Williams will film them and cut them into a new version of the video.”

DMX set for VH-1′s “Celebrity Rehab”

UPDATE: DMX’s publicist has just issued a statement claiming that DMX will NOT be in the next season of “Celebrity Rehab.” Why? Because he is still in jail. The official statement reads as follows:

“These reports are false and Mr. Simmons has not greed to appear in any reality show. Mr. Simmons is currently serving a 90 day jail sentence at Tent City Jail in Arizona . He has expressed great appreciation to the overwhelming amount of support he has received from his fans during this difficult time. He would like his fans to know that he is taking this time to focus on his personal as well as spiritual growth, and is looking forward to being released soon.”

DMX x Celebrity Rehab. I’m pretty sure everyone saw this coming. DMX has been in A LOT of trouble the past couple of years with every drug charge you could possibly think of. So it was no surprise when VH-1 officially announced him on the cast of this coming season’s “Celebrity Rehab.” No other cast members have been announced yet and we will have further details as they come in.
