We’ll see what Diana Ross has to say about this but Ashanti is set to make her stage debut in the musical “The Wiz” as the lead girl from Kansas. According to Billboard, Ashanti will perform June 12 through July 5 at New York City Center as part of its “Encores! Summer Stars” series. Opening night is June 18. No Nelly will not be playing the Tin Man and JaRule is not the Cowardly Lion. Although it would be great to see Michael Jackson come back as Scarecrow.
