We have just confirmed with movie studio Anchor Bay that they have bought the outright film distribution rights to 50 Cent’s new movie Streets of Blood. Those in the industry know though that Anchor Bay buys and distributes movies…straight to video. Yes, that’s right. WoooHa can confirm that Streets of Blood is going straight to video and will be available in stores July 28, 2009.
We have been covering Streets of Blood for sometime now. We were the first to break their sales trailer that the producers were pitching to studios months ago. But clearly no theatrical studios were interested. For those 50 fans, you might remember that this is the movie where 50 and co-star Val Kilmer formed a strong friendship…to the point that Val bought 50 a classic car.
Anyways, there you have it. All in all it’s not a good week for 50 Cent news. Earlier this week, sales numbers for his game “Blood on the Sand” were released and they were VERY VERY low and now this news about his movie going straight to DVD. The good news though is that 50 has a bunch of other movie projects coming soon including Twelve and a bunch of other projects in the works. Let’s just hope they hit theaters this time though.
Check the new trailer just cut by Anchor Bay and new DVD art as well. Remember, you saw it here first.

Come on? Does this REALLY surprise anyone? This movie looks like straight garbage (yet I do want to watch it HA)
I have been wondering about this movie and my boy 50. Thanks for the heads up. I’m going to check it out. How are you able to drop knowledge like this when all the supposed bit “sites” out there have no clue? This is why I keep coming back.

IM INTO THE MOVIE AND TRAILER SO ILL GO SUPPORT IT EVEN IF ITS OUT ON DVD THEN ITS CHEAPER FOR ME ANYWAYS. SO EVERYONE WINS OUT OF IT IF YOU ASK ME THEN.
I’m sure there’s been a lot worse at the cinema lately…. Why the fuck would they send a Kilmer/Sstone/Curtiss flick straight to the shelf?
Imma check it out on the strength of the topic…. seems a bit off to me that there hasn’t been any major release of any project on the whole N.O. Katrina fuckery…..even if this is really just a shoot em up placed within the context of the disaster
Its easy why this did not sell to a major studio. People dont want to be reminded of the bad tramautic times in movies these days. We livin it every day now with this economy. If the movie took place outside of katrina it would have sold.
looks dope
