Common lands role in comedy “Date Night” w/ Steve Carell

Common x Date Night. Common is usually cast as the brooding silent guy holding a gun in his movies. From Smokin’ Aces, Street Kings, American Gangster and the upcoming Terminator Salvation. But now it looks like he is taking his acting career to the next level…comedies.

Common will be supporting big time comedians Steve Carell and Tina Fey in the upcoming movie Date Night which is about a typical married couple (Carell and Fey) whose typical date night ends up being an adventure they will never forget. Movie also stars Mark Wahlberg, James Franco and Taraji P. Henson. Hopefully Common will not be holding a gun in Date Night. Movie began filming two weeks ago and is set for an April 9, 2010 release.

Ashanti to star as Dorothy in musical “The Wiz”

Ashanti x The Wiz. Will the real Dorothy please stand up? We’ll see what Diana Ross has to say about this but Ashanti is set to make her stage debut in the musical “The Wiz” as the lead girl from Kansas. According to Billboard, Ashanti will perform June 12 through July 5 at New York City Center as part of its “Encores! Summer Stars” series. Opening night is June 18. No Nelly will not be playing the Tin Man and JaRule is not the Cowardly Lion. Although it would be great to see Michael Jackson come back as Scarecrow.

We were just some no-named site they didn’t want to deal with.

Only AFTER posting the story and only AFTER various blogs and sites caught the story did Sears decide to respond to us. Their official representative (who I won’t call out because at least he was a professional in dealing with me) e-mailed WoooHa and asked us Continue Reading…
