Rick Ross wants to launch “Big & Tall” clothing line

Many don’t know this but Rick Ross already has one clothing line under his belt. His Luxury Tax clothing line was launched this past year but currently has limited distribution and marketing behind it. But that won’t stop the Big Boss from expanding…his clothing line that is. Rick Ross recently told Rap-up.com:

“I would just love to target a big and tall audience. A lot of times, big dudes can’t walk in these stores and get these sizes of the fly shit,” he says. “So I’d love to put something together just for the big guys.”

Does this mean we will see a Luxury Tax: Big & Tall collection in the future?  Via: Broken Cool

WoooHa featured in AdAge Eminem article

AdAge, one of the premiere advertising trade magazines in the industry, recently ran an article about Eminem and his Twitter campaign for “Relapse.” Check out the article on their website and you will notice about halfway through that our very own Scott Yeti and WoooHa gets quoted:

Scott Yeti, a marketing consultant to film studios and record labels who runs the hip-hop-marketing blog Woooha, said Eminem’s use of storytelling on the web for this campaign goes well beyond the scope of most music marketing.

“The ‘Relapse’ campaign is very similar to how we would break out a major movie,” Mr. Yeti said via e-mail. “The same elements are there, which is rare these days considering the lack of money labels usually have.”

“To me, he is taking album marketing to a whole new level,” he added. “It truly is an event.”

Props to AdAge and Charlie Moran for recognizing the power that hip-hop has in marketing and the groundbreaking tactics that artists like Eminem are willing to take on.

Eminem in Judd Apatow movie “Funny People”

Eminem x Funny People. Looks like comedy super producer/director Judd Apatow has a thing for rappers. Diddy is co-starring in his latest film Get Me To the Greek (see pics of Diddy getting into a on-set fight) and now Eminem will be making his first appearance in a movie since 8 Mile in the Apatow movie Funny People. Movie stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and even the RZA has a small part.

AceShowBiz had the following to say about Eminem’s cameo:

Of the matter, the rapper who won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “8 Mile” gushed, “I just did a cameo a few months ago with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen in a Judd Apatow produced film. It’s called Funny People.” Elaborating more, he said, “I kinda do a little cameo in that which was fun by the way. And 8 Mile was not a fun movie to shoot.”

Funny People hits theaters this summer, July 31st. Props to The Rap Up for the story.
