Beyonce launches Sasha Fierce juniors clothing line

Beyonce x Sasha Fierce. Now it’s not just her alter-ego…it’s a freaking clothing line. Beyonce and Momma Knowles have recently announced the launch of the Sasha Fierce clothing line which will include sportswear, outerwear, handbags, footwear, eyewear, lingerie and jewelry and will be carried by department stores including Macy‚Äôs and Dillard‚Äôs. Lingerie for juniors? Hmmmm….is R. Kelly an investor in this?

All joking aside folks, Women’s Wear Daily claims the new line will be at price points between $25-$75 as the Knowles family hopes to attract younger teens to have them eventually buy House of Dereon in the future. Beyonce stated:

“The line really exudes a different side of my personality, which I am grateful that I can express.”

No official word yet when the Sasha Fierce line will hit stores. We just know it will be fierce (three snaps in Z formation!!!).

Kanye West is NOT interning at The GAP

Rumors were running around last week that Kanye West had a summer internship at The Gap learning the ins and outs of the major retail fashion industry. The rumors started after a source told US Weekly:

“He works all the time, and one Friday night recently he stayed until midnight. He is learning the fashion business from the inside and trying to do it quietly.”

But now, People Magazine has dispelled these rumors as an official spokesperson for Gap shot the rumors down stating “Regarding Kanye interning at Gap, this is not true.‚Äù That has to be one of the shortest official statements we have seen but it gets the job done. So there you have it folks….your $6.99 Gap t-shirts are saved from being Kanye-ized for now.

VIDEO: Jin’s Hong Kong Lemon Tea TV commercial

Jin x Vita Lemon Tea. Ya’ll remember Jin a couple years back when he tore up the freestyle circuit and became the first Asian-American Ruff Ryder right? He’s been out of the U.S. spotlight for a bit now as his first Ruff Ryders album failed to gain any heat. But at least it’s good to see he is doing his thing overseas in Asia and landed himself some nice endorsement money with Asia’s Vita Lemon Tea. Check him in this new TV commercial. Via: NahRight

Beyonce pushing to star in “Sister Act” remake

According to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, Beyonce is itching to play the lead role of Sister Deloris Van Cartier (played by Whoopi Goldberg) in a remake of the now classic Sister Act. The 1992 hit movie has since moved on as a musical stage version currently set to hit New York’s Broadway in 2010. The paper reports:

“Beyonce has asked her representatives to persuade Disney to develop the show into a film vehicle for her. If this comes to pass, she would take on, in musical form, the part Whoopi Goldberg creates in the 1992 ‘Sister Act’ film, although the stage version moves the action from the West Coast to Philadelphia.”

The remake wouldn’t be scheduled until 2011. This could actually be a good move for Beyonce although Whoopi has one thing B has yet to develop….strong comedic timing. If anyone wants to argue with me on that then bring it. No…Obsessed was not a comedy. Via: DrewReports

PICS: First look of Eminem in Judd Apatow’s “Funny People”

Eminem x Funny People. Yes it is true that Eminem is appearing in the Judd Apatow comedy Funny People as his first movie since 8 Mile. But no worries folks, Eminem is not trying to get into comedy as his role is more of a cameo and he plays himself. Basically Adam Sandler plays a famous dying comedian and Eminem is just one of the many famous people that he has to break the news to.

When asked about working with Eminem, Apatow told MTV ‚ÄúI was scared to pitch jokes to him then I realized his songs are as nasty as anything that has ever been spoken. There is no way to offend him.‚Äù MTV also has the first pic shown here….

The Game in talks to play B.A. Baracus for A-Team movie

Casting is already coming together for the upcoming A-Team movie which will now be produced by Ridley and Tony Scott. Word is it will be more of a realistic action flick vs. campy/cheesy. Right now Liam Neeson is set to play the leader Hannibal, Brad Cooper (from The Hangover) is Face…but the one casting announcement everyone is waiting for is who will play B.A. Baracus?

Rumors have gone around from Tyrese, Ice Cube and recently Common was rumored to be a lock for the role. But now BlackFilm is reporting that The Game is intense talks with the filmmakers to take on the role of B.A. Since Common just took on his first leading role in the film Just Right, word is he might not have the time to take on the B.A. role as well.

This leaves The Game, who has a much smaller film resume but did star alongside Common in Street Kingsand definitely brings a tough rugged appeal that a modern day B.A. might have. It’s pretty obvious at this point that whoever gets the role, B.A. will most likely be a hip-hop artist so the filmmakers can capitolize and getting the urban demo to the theaters. Stay tuned for more…

Quincy Jones wants to buy VIBE.com; not the print magazine

There were early reports that Quincy Jones was on a quest to save VIBE Magazine, the publication he once owned, from a complete shutdown. But contrary to earlier reports, Quincy has no intention of saving the actual print publication which will release its last ever issue this month. Instead, Quincy, unlike many other print pubs out there, clearly sees the future is in the internet.

“I’m trying to buy my magazine back now,” Quincy told EbonyJet.com in a Tuesday phone call. “They just messed my magazine all up, but I’m gonna get it back. You better believe it, I’m’a take it online because print and all that stuff is over.”

“We gotta get into the 21st century you know,” he added. “Print and all that stuff is over, we gotta remember that. The Chicago Tribune, The Seattle Post Intelligencer. The Miami Herald. They’re over the same way as the record business. We have got to get into this century.”

We will keep you updated as to if Quincy will be able to do what he says here and save the online portion of VIBE. Nice to know an old-schooler in the game recognizes the importance of online. Hey Mr. Jones….there is another website you might want to buy. It’s called WoooHa.com.
