Our very first review. There will be plenty more as WoooHa will now be reviewing and covering the latest products, movies, shows, etc. related to the hip-hop industry and urban lifestyle. Gatorade was nice enough to send us over some bottles of their brand new Michael Jordan Gatorade so we though rather than posting just a normal entry about it we would use it to kick off our first WoooHa Review.
Stay tuned for more reviews in the coming months as we already have stuff in the works with everyone from the latest clothing companies to the major movie studios. Ok back to the review….first off I’ve been a Gatorade junkie since I was ten so I know my sports draaank…..
WHAT: Michael Jordan branded Gatorade series (Championship Brand)
COLLABORATION: The Jordan brand and Gatorade go hand in hand (Be Like Mike) so it’s no surprise that a Jordan branded sports drink has finally hit the market. Tiger has his own….Michael should too.
AVAILABILITY: July of 2009 until they run out…it’s a limited run of six bottles and three new flavors
DETAILS: Each bottle of the Jordan Championship Brand tells the story of MJ’s rise to superstardom. The three new flavors are as follows:
Then – Championship Blue (Berry Cherry Blend): Tastes like the current Cool Blue

Now – Championship Gold (Citrus Orange Blend): Pretty much like the old school Orange

Forever – Championship Red (Berry Blend): Tastes like X-Factor Berry

THE VERDICT: Drink it. Overall the Gatorade Jordan Championship series is definitely a nice marketing campaign for Gatorade by recognizing the greatest basketball player of all time. The flavors themselves are not ground breaking and actually just taste like the current existing lines. But this clearly is not about the new flavors…it’s about changing the perception of Gatorade as not just a sports drink but as a collectible as well.
Unlike the current Tiger Woods series, this Jordan brand series is “limited edition” and it’s pretty safe to say there are enough Jordan-heads out there to sell the brand out. If so, expect more and more marketing campaigns like this in the future. Maybe one day there will be a Wu-Tang Clan Gatorade…I’d buy that all up.
WoooHa SCORE: 7 out of 10. The flavors aren’t bad but Gatorade gets points for an innovative way to extend their brand and add a “collectible” angle to their product. The Michael Jordan stories on the labels are cool added edge as well.

MJ (And michael Jackson) will always be the king – its a nice way to celebrate his storied career. Ill prob buy these just as replacement to the gatorade I already drink
I'll buy em just because tehy are Michael Jordan. That's all I need to know really.
Im not a fan of all the Gatorade “G” rebranding but I do agree this is a good idea to do limited editions as longs as the athletes dont end up using roids. so in that case no baseball players or football. stick to bball and golf and you are safe. and tennis
I'll take water please …
I'll take a colt 45….more refreshing than Gatorade
very good dancer is a great person even….thanx
