Rev Run and his wife Justine have been getting a pretty hefty paycheck for their MTV reality show “Run’s House” for the past couple of years. Now it’s looking like they are taking further advantage of their popularity as a “down to earth” family as the couple have released a book called “Take Back Your Family: How to Raise Respectful and Loving Kids in a Dysfunctional World.” Whew! That was a long title.

The book is currently available at Amazon and has actually been getting some pretty strong reviews. Take a look at a couple of them here:

That’s right. According to Variety, Warner Brothers, who has the Soul Train property rights, has just hired a writer to complete a full script based on the hit show. Darryl Porter and Aaron Geller of Porter/Geller Prods. will produce with Don Cornelius, the famed host and producer of the show, which ran from 1971-2006.

The writer chosen for the duty is Malcolm Spellman who is best known for his work on the film Dead Presidents. Spellman will be writing the film set in the 80′s and already has an outline of the script.

“All of the hip-hop street dances you see today were born during that time period and were first seen on that show, and I remember doing all of them when I was a kid,” said Spellman.

Protag comes from the L.A. hood, and his ticket out is his gift for “popping,” a street dance that became popular in the period. Cornelius told Spellman he’d always wanted to mount a tour with bands and dancers, and the writer will make that fictional tour a centerpiece of the film.

“This guy is a serious popper, with street edge, and he wants to get on that tour, with the hottest of the hot,” Spellman said. “Writing with Don involved is quite an experience. He’s still the godfather of cool.”

Sounds like a role Chris Brown might have been able to land if it were not for the Rihanna incident. I’m sure they will go the big publicity route though and hold a nation-wide search while bringing back some of that “Soul Train” vibe we all love and miss. No word yet on when the film would be released.

Eve x Whip It. No it’s not a movie about getting high off empty whipped cream cans…it’s even better…a movie about hot girls in roller skates beating the crap out of each other. Eve makes her first U.S. film appearance in awhile now as she plays a roller derby player by the name of Rosa Sparks. The trailer hit the internet last month and now here is the first official pic showing Eve in all her rollerskating glory. Thanks to Fox Searchlight for the photo. More coming your way!

Although Scott Storch has reportedly gotten back on the financial straight and narrow as well as signed a reality TV show deal apparently it is all not enough to save him from going homeless. TMZ reports the following:

The former music producer for Britney Spears, 50 Cent and Mariah Carey continues his legendary fall from grace — Scott Storch has lost his massive Miami Mansion.

SunTrust Bank took back ownership of the home Storch defaulted on last July, buying it back at an auction on Friday for $5.5 million. The 10-bedroom, 16-bath home was valued at around $7 million.

The bank had been trying to foreclose on Storch for months, but couldn’t because he had declared for bankruptcy (it was recently dismissed).

So yes, Scott Storch, former multi-millionaire is now homeless. It’s quite sad to see but at least he can just live on his yacht. Wait. He can’t. The bank took that too. I see his reality show with a new twist…living at home with his parents.

Cassie x DimePiece Clothing. I was amazed to see Diddy promoting a clothing line outside of his Sean John empire until I realized that it was in an effort to give Cassie some added publicity. Diddy wrote on his Twitter account “@cassieventura did this shoot is b/c she is collaborating with DIMEPIECE on a few exclusive pieces for her album, Electro Love” and posted the following official pics of Cassie modeling for DimePiece.
