Usher admits to owning over 10,000 pairs of shoes

If you do the rough math and estimate a VERY conservative $200 per pair of shoes that comes out to $2 million worth. I’m no math genius but I do know that’s a lot more than the $79.99 worth of old British Knights that I own. Usher’s shoe fetish is so bad that he actually likens it to an addiction.

“Yeah, it’s true. I even ask myself, ‘Are you serious?’ It’s ridiculous. I go from Timberlands and Hi-Tec to Balenciaga and Lanvin. I have someone going to pick up the new red Nike Jordans for me right now.”

Now I can understand why he is divorcing Tameka. Her shoe collection was probably getting bigger than his. Or maybe she is actually divorcing him…because he is worse than Carrie Bradshaw and owns over $2 million worth of shoes.

City of New York won’t name subway station after Michael Jackson

New York City Councilwoman Letitia James has been campaigning to rename the subway station that Michael Jackson filmed the classic music video “Bad” to pay tribute to the deceased artist. Under her proposal, the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Subway Station in Brooklyn would be renamed.

“Having Michael Jackson visit and moonwalk at this station was a huge deal not only for Brooklyn, but all of New York in the ’80s. And renaming this station in his honor would put it on the map and help ensure that people don’t forget” stated James.

Unfortunate for MJ fans, the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) did not think the same and turned down James’ proposal. I would have loved to see this happen just for all the marketing opportunities that would come out of it. Think of all the MJ impersonators and bootleg stuff they would sell at that station.

Def Jam’s RAPSTAR video game includes online freestyle battles

Back in June, Def Jam released the official trailer to the karaoke-style rap game RAPSTAR. The game features official tracks from Def Jam artists but according to gaming site Kotaku, that’s not all. A big part of the game will be the online feature where gamers can freestyle to various provided beats and record video of their own songs as well.

The freestyle tracks will even have the ability to add layers giving gamers the opportunity to add background vocals and other layered instruments on top of their beats. Seems like a pretty cool feature as long as the gaming community will actually take part in it and record their own tracks. Expect Def Jam Rapstar to hit officially this “Winter,” which likely means sometime in Q1 2010.
