Sony wants you to think this is going to be a big deal. Taking a page out of the Disney Hannah Montana movie (yes second time I have referenced this movie now) playbook…Sony will be showing This Is It for a two week limited engagement only. As a result, Sony’s marketing efforts will be built around the pre-sale of tickets on the official website. The reality? If it does well in theaters there is no way Sony will pull the plug after just two weeks. Mark my little WoooHa words…they will keep “extending” the movie in theaters until it is finally played out. Is it true this will be played mostly at Regal theaters which is also owned by AEG?
It will be played wide in ALL theaters and not just Regal. So AMC, Pacific Theaters, etc all will be showing it.
