The Lee Daniels indie film Precious is getting some major buzz as it is officially endorsed by both Oprah and Tyler Perry but what intrigues us at WoooHa is how Daniels was able to transform diva Mariah Carey, who plays a life counselor,  into one ugly chick. We mean that in the most respectful way possible…in fact in an interview with the AP Mariah states the same…

“That was such a freeing experience for me,” Carey says. “By making me look so bad he brought out the ability to never be self-conscious again, and that was a gift that he gave me.” 

And check this…the experience was so freeing for Mariah that she actually let photographers take pictures of her on set from both her right AND left side. Previously, Mariah would only let photographers take her photo from the right side. No joke. I can’t make this up.

“Sometimes I like that side (her right side) — and Nick likes that side better anyway,” Mariah adds.

That’s awesome. Imagine all the other diva-like things that Mr. Carey must deal with every day but he must take it…like a man. Anyways, Precious hits theaters in November and all kidding aside I hear it’s an amazing movie and Mariah does a fantastic job and makes her haggard appearance quite believable.
