Here is the second part of the interview that the LIFE Files had with Steve Stoute. A great video to learn from one of the greats.
Similar to 50 Cent’s BISD album release strategy, Snoop will be releasing a movie with his upcoming album Malice in Wonderland. The movie which has the same name as the album also co-stars Xzibit and Jaime Foxx.
As WoooHa previously reported, labels are giving artists more creative leeway to help sell albums and the big trend are these movies. Expect to see more like this from other “A-List” artists who can afford the production costs.

Here is the first official pic from The Karate Kid remake starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. So many reasons why this movie should not be made…unfortunately it’s still happening. Jaden plays Dre, whose name was inspired by Dr. Dre. (no joke), a skateboarding, video game playing kid who needs the help of Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) after Dre gets beat up by some kids.
Dre then meets a skinny kid named Snoop and they team up to release an album called “The Chronic” that changes the landscape of West Coast hip-hop as we know it. Wait…no that’s not right. Dre teams up with Mr. Han so Han can teach Dre how to fight against the students of Li Quan Ha’s Fighting Dragon School of Kung-Fu which leads to the ultimate showdown. Yay. Via: Slash Film

DJ AM x Nike. DJ AM was one of the biggest sneaker heads around so when he landed the opportunity to design a version of the Nike Dunk High’s he obviously was excited. Unfortunately AM never got to enjoy his collaboration actually hit the streets.
His ACDC-inspired logo completes the look on the tongue and the pattern used for the dots along the heel come from the tool that gave AM his fame–the Technics 1200 turntable. Nice custom touch there. More pics after the jump…Via: NiceKicks

Young Jeezy x Janky Promoters. We were the first to break the news that the Weinsteins were pulling the plug on the completed Ice Cube and Mike Epps comedy Janky Promoters, and staying true to our reports, The Weinstein Company officially released the movie straight-to-DVD with no marketing, no media and no promotions last Tuesday. The movie was filmed over a year ago and starred Ice Cube, Friday franchise counterpart Mike Epps and a special musical performance by Young Jeezy (see video clip after jump) and originally was developed and set to be distributed by The Weinstein Company as part of their push for urban films.
At the time, the Weinstein Company also developed and was set to distribute Hurricane Season starring Bow Wow and Lil Wayne to give the studio a formidable 1-2-punch in the urban film genre. Unfortunately, as we previously reported, The Weinsteins ran into financial difficulty and were forced to shelve a majority of their 2009 slate because they wouldn’t be able to afford the distribution and marketing costs. Janky Promoters was then taken off the release schedule and Cube and his production company Cube Vision awaited a new release date from the Weinsteins.
As time went on and the 3rd quarter of 2009 rolled around, our insiders report that The Weinstein Company had to make the decision to completely cut certain films from their slate and sell off the rights or distribute straight-to-DVD. In the case of Janky Promoters, it was decided that with the star power of Ice Cube behind it and it being a comedy which generally rent well, that they would go straight-to-DVD and take their chances with it as a Blockbuster exclusive.

BlakRoc x Chevrolet. BlakRoc, the album collaboration between The Black Keys and artists including Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, Raekwon, Pharoahe Monch, Jim Jones, and more was released this past Friday (yes Black Friday) available exclusively online through iTunes. The BlakRoc project was coordinated through Damon Dash and as part of the promotional and marketing efforts Dash has teamed up with Chevrolet for a limited edition BlakRoc Camaro. Details as follows:
From the ground up, the BlakRoc Camaro has been equipped with sleek, stylish accents that tie in with the BlakRoc brand. Starting with the BR logo inlayed front and center. Blacking it out turns up the heat. The windows are tinted, the taillights are smoked, and even the Chevy bow tie goes dark to complete the look. The Black on Black classic combination subtly comes to life with flat black racing stripes front to back with the BlakRoc logo inlayed in metallic on the hood and rear spoiler.Interior includes the BlakRoc logo embedded in custom design kick plates and black on black BR logo custom embroidered on center console.
