Ice Cube x Forbes. Hmmm so this is one Forbe’s list that actors DON’T want to be on. Every year Forbe’s takes the 100 biggest stars in Hollywood and calculates who is the most overpaid. To qualify, each actor had to have starred over the last five years in at least three movies that opened in more than 500 theaters.
Forbe’s then calculated a return-on-investment number for each star by dividing total operating income on the three films by the star’s total compensation, including up-front salaries and earnings from DVD and TV sales. Unfortunately Ice Cube made the list at #5 which isn’t that bad where you have Will Ferrell at #1 and Eddie Murphy at #4.
The hip-hop star has made a second career for himself as an actor in films like Are We There Yet? and Barbershop. Ice Cube earns a modest (by Hollywood standards) paycheck, but his recent films haven’t performed very well. Last summer’s The Longshots earned only $12 million.
For every $1 Ice Cube was paid, his films earned $4.77.
The good news out of all of this? Well at least Ice Cube qualifies as one of the 100 biggest starts in Hollywood. Regardless, Cube is getting Hollywood sized checks for his movies which more and more artists are trying to get as the dwindling music royalty checks fail to pay the bills or support the life style expected of stars.

Release Janky Promoters!
There are just too many interests nowadays. To expect an actor to hit the ball out of the park every time is not realistic.
Weinstein’s still holding that movie. It’s not on the release schedule anymore but so far they haven’t dropped it all together either.
You mean Triple x 2 wasnt a good return on investment? or the longshots? Im down with Cube but yea his movies dont exactly break the bank.
