Jay-Z x Jaguar. A sign that the economy is recovering is the fact that auto companies are starting to spend money on their promotion budgets again. The latest big budget car promotion was Queen Latifah with the Ford Mustang which included car placement in her video “Fast Car.” Now Jay-Z takes things up a notch by partnering with Jaguar to promote the new 2011 XJ model. Promotions will include placing the XJ in Jay’s next video “On To The Next One” and Jay-Z will make various appearances throughout the year to promote the car model as well.
“JAY-Z is an icon who has blazed an unprecedented path through music, fashion, business and sports; making his video “On To The Next One” the absolutely right vehicle for the all-new 2011 Jaguar XJ to make its global entertainment industry debut,” said Mike O’ Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars. “Just as the concept of the video speaks to success and the birth of new ideas, all-new XJ is a breakthrough luxury automobile that we designed to elevate the luxury car experience and create a new automotive icon for style and indulgence.”
The 2011 Jaguar XJ will go on sale in North America in April 2010. Although the XJ shown in Jay-Z’s video is custom including “Blue Print” body paint, there will not be any limited edition Jay-Z models available for sale. Look out for some more auto promotions with artists as auto company marketing departments look for ways to kick start 2010 and energize the consumer with their new models. Via: Examiner
