Sony should have dropped this music video to fuel the This Is It movie hype…instead they finally released the official version now. At least it was worth the wait as the video is directed by none other than Spike Lee and his 40 Acres and a Mule production company. Still…it would have been nice to have this video as a marketing tool during the film release.

Just when you thought the comedy cop buddies movie formula was done with. I don’t know what’s worse…Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker or Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. Check the new trailer to Cop Out where Willis and Morgan play unlikely partners on duty and hilarity ensues.

Usher x The NBA. It might have been all Mariah Carey with the NBA (see NBA promo spots)  this Christmas but it will be Usher who gets the premium coverage as the spotlight artist for the upcoming NBA 2010 All-Star game. Promo ads are already running featuring Usher and his single “More” which is anticipated to be on his next studio album Raymond vs. Raymond. The All-Star game is scheduled for this coming Feb. 14th in Dallas, TX.

Here are the latest album sales for this past week compliments of HITS Daily Double. There were no major hip-hop releases this week and no carry overs cracked the Top 10. Alicia Keys still proves she has the females on lock moving a solid 400K+ units only behind super phenom Susan Boyle.

Gucci Mane’s State vs. Radric Davis dropped from #11 to #46 this week selling 36K units. Where’s another Eminem release when we need it? Ah yes…The Refill.

Looks like a little bit of Mr. & Mrs. Smith mixed with some Mission Impossible action. Movie hits theaters next summer.

Coming from the LA Auto Show which was a couple weeks back, rumor has it that Cadillac has been on the hunt for a new hip-hop spokesperson to help launch their CTS-V Coupe and a new flagship model. The rumors were confirmed that Cadillac will “premiere” their new flagship dubbed the XTS in next month’s Detroit Auto Show but no word on who the new spokesperson is or if there really will be one.

Common currently has a promotional deal with Cadillac which included print and TV advertising but will his deal be extended or are they looking for someone else to carry the load to launch the XTS? With Queen Latifah handling the Ford Mustang duties and Diddy wrapped up with Ciroc what other broad-appealing artists out there are big enough to take on an auto partnership? No…don’t say Kanye West.
