One of our faithful WoooHa readers sent us over these first look pics (more pics after the jump) at the Club Beats section located nation-wide at Best Buy. For those who don’t remember, Club Beats is the DJing retail section located in Best Buy that is in partnership with Interscope Records and Dr. Dre. Dre’s likeness is used in the in-store signage and of course the section is all branded around Monster’s Beats by Dre iconic look.

And don’t forget to enter our BEATS BY DRE studio headphone giveaway just in time for the holidays. WoooHa is giving away the Beats by Dres to two lucky WoooHa winners this Friday so enter now.

72% of WoooHa readers say Twitter will last one year; Chris Brown agrees

In last weeks’ “WoooHa Poll of the Week” we asked 100 WoooHa readers “How much longer will Twitter be the hot thing in hip-hop? The results came back as follows:

twitter

So 72% think Twitter will last another year in hip-hop before everyone migrates along to the next big thing. Looks like our readers are pretty damn in tune with what’s been going down lately in the Twitterverse. First you had Cudi publicly denouncing Twitter last week, and now just yesterday Chris Brown officially deleted his Twitter account after one too many PR nightmares.

As more and more artists find themselves in more trouble than good with Twitter it will only be a matter of time before more artist managers and publicists put the shut down on their clients’ Twitter account. Who is next to bail from Twitter?

VIDEO: Biz Markie in “I Love Tune-Up” iTunes ad

Biz Markie x I Love Tune-Up. There is a new king of commercials in hip-hop these days and he’s literally all about the Biz. The iTunes music organizing software company has enlisted Biz Markie and Andy Milonakis of all people for their first major ad campaign. We like seeing artists like Biz Markie re-invent themselves to stay relevant in today’s pop culture. Now you can’t go anywhere without hearing “Just a Friend” including the recent Radio Shack ad and last year’s big Heineken ad success. Via: TRU

Pharrell releases $115 BBC/Ice Cream dog pillow

bbc-ice-cream-dog-cushion
Yea that’s $115 U.S. dollars. You must really love your dog to get them this BBC/Ice Cream dog pillow. Wait…or is it just a pillow that’s shaped like a dog and meant for humans? Just ignore the fact these probably cost $0.99 to manufacture in China. Regardless, we actually envy Pharrell’s high margin luxury clothing business model and the millions he reaps in globally every year off of it. Via: BBC Blog

VIDEO: Lil Wayne & Bow Wow in straight to DVD “Hurricane Season”

Lil Wayne’s feature film debut has officially been downgraded to “Direct to DVD” status. Unfortunately Hurricane Season, which stars Forest Whitaker, Bow Wow and Wayne has officially reached the same status as the Ice Cube comedy Janky Promoters and is currently available at all Blockbuster Video stores as an exclusive. Check this scene from the movie where Wayne plays Lamont, a high school kid who sells stolen kicks to the basketball team and even bets against his own school.

Hurricane Season was actually a project that many Hollywood studios were excited about. It had a legit director (Tim Story from Barbershop and Fantastic Four), an Academy Award winner in Forest Whitaker and a hot young cast with Bow Wow and Wayne. Unfortunately the project was under the Weinstein Studio which faced financial troubles and shelved a handful of their films including this one.

Problem was, although the movie is solid and definitely deserves a major theatrical release, the subject matter was considered “been there and done that” since it was centered around post-Hurricane Katrina. The good out of all this? You get to watch a pretty solid movie and see Lil Wayne play a 17 year old all for $5 now. Go buy rent it now.
