Swizz Beatz teams w/ Christian Louboutin for sneaker collection

Swizz
Swizz Beatz x Louboutin.
Kanye West paved the way for the hip-hop high-end luxury sneaker collaborations with his Louis Vuittons. Now word has it that Swizz Beatz is teaming up with Christian Louboutin for a 2010 sneaker collaboration. Now word yet on the price range but considering a pair of Louboutin women’s shoes run from $1k-$2K they definitely will be more on the expensive side. They just look like $79 Converse hi-tops to me though. Via: Cavi

Pharrell the artist on cover of “Modern Painters”

pharrell

The future of the ultimate hip-hop businessman is also….a painter? Pharrell has been doing some major publicity lately (see NY Times interview) but not for N.E.R.D. or a new album he’s producing. Instead, Skateboard P has been pushing his involvement as an actual artist to the point where he even graces the latest issue of “Modern Painters.” Nice to see Pharrell doing some thing unique and interesting with his spare time.

VIDEO: Wale talks about the trials of music business

Wale sits down with Vlad TV and discusses the trials and tribulations of the music business. At least he doesn’t slam the industry as an excuse for his low album sales like Chris Brown did during his little Twit fit. Of course Wale would have plenty of reason to complain after moving just 30K units the first couple of week. Jump to 2:50 if you want to get straight to the business talk. Via: ProHipHop

Chris Brown rips the music industry on Twitter

cb

Although the industry might be jumping off the Twitter bandwagon, at least we know one good use for it these days…complaining about album sales. Here is Chris Brown’s latest Tweet where he complains about the music industry.

Maybe instead of complaining about his lack of sales he should be spending his time…shutting the heck up. CB should be lucky he even moved 90-100K first week units.

VIDEO: The Nappy Headz call out T-Pain in new documentary

The Nappy Headz x The Nappy Headz Story. Before there was Auto-Tune in hip-hop, before there was T-Pain the multi-platinum album artist…there were The Nappy Headz. Similar to Eminem and D-12, The Florida based Nappy Headz made a pact that if one of them got big that they would back up the rest of the group in bringing them to stardom as well.

Apparently T-Pain didn’t do as planned and The Nappy Headz are calling him out in this full-length documentary.

The way you did it. You didn’t tell us. You just started making songs. You ran off,” a member of the group says in the film’s trailer. “It had to be a Nappy Head for them to know T-Pain.”

“I’m just disappointed in the way he let the success get to him,” another member added.

Well looks like they are making money through him now…or trying to depending on how many people actually buy the DVD. You can buy it at the official site for $14.95.

R. Kelly to release “tell-all” autobiography

R. Kelly to release “tell-all” autobiography

R. Kelly will be teaming up with celebrity autobiography co-author David Ritz to write a “tell-all” book that will cover the good, the bad and the ugly. You know everyone will be on this book for one reason though…will he explain all his “age ain’t nothing but a number” activities? Accord to R. Kelly Robert nothing will be off limits.

“I’m writing this book as Robert, not R. Kelly.””I’m tired of being misunderstood. I will show you the tears, fears, and sweat. I will open my heart and reveal the good in my life as well as all the drama. I want to tell it like it is.”

The book is set to release sometime in 2011 and will be published under Tavis Smiley’s imprint Smiley Books. No word on publishing deal figures at this time.
