Adult Swim confirms Lil Wayne to play Jesus in cartoon

Adult Swim confirms Lil Wayne to play Jesus in cartoon

Lil Wayne x Adult Swim. After hearing of all the internet rumors about Lil Wayne playing Jesus Christ in T-Pain’s upcoming Adult Swim cartoon special, the network decided to set the record straight. It is confirmed that Lil Wayne WILL be playing Jesus…just not necessarily Jesus Christ.

A spokesperson for Adult Swim says that the rapper’s character in a one-hour cartoon special with the working title “Return of Freaknik” is not Jesus Christ per se, but just a guy named Jesus.Lil Wayne’s character is still evolving. All we can say is that he is named Jesus and not Jesus Christ.

The cartoon, which is being produced by fellow music maker T-Pain, is about a group of up-and-coming rappers who travel to Atlanta for a battle of the bands contest.

So there you have it. Nice way to avoid some controversy. So either Lil Wayne is going to be portrayed as the Son of God or a Hispanic dude. More to come. Via: Bossip

Pharrell’s Ice Cream Orange Tiger jacket

tiger-varsity-jacket-2
Usually it’s hard for us to justify the higher prices of premium streetwear like BBC and Ice Cream but Pharrell’s latest, the Orange Tiger jacket, is pretty dang hard to resist. Of course it’s $880…I’ll wait for the Los Angeles Chinatown knockoff version.

VIDEO: Mariah Carey’s drunk acceptance speech for “Precious”

Mariah Carey x Precious. Mariah’s film career was elevated leaps and bounds for her performance in Precious. It basically erased any memories of Glitter in the heads of casting agents.

Too bad Mariah embarrasses herself accepting an award while drunk at the Palm Springs International Film Festival which is actually an important film festival. It just starts to get really awkward right when it cuts out. Maybe Nick Cannon saved the day again.

VIDEO: Will Smith & Denzel Washington remake “Uptown Saturday Night”

Will Smith and Denzel Washington are officially on board to film the remake of the 1970′s comedy classic Uptown Saturday Night which originally starred Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier. Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment production company bought out the rights for the remake over eight years ago as the project was slowly put on the backburner until now.

Will previously considered teaming up with comedians like Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy before changing direction and going with Denzel. Movie is about a pair of friends who lose a winning lottery ticket and set about the town in search of it. Check the clip of the original Uptown Saturday Night to get warped back to the 1970′s complete with Bill Cosby’s Ricky Williams-like hairdo.
