VIDEO: Kid Cudi talks HBO show “How To Make It In America”

Kid Cudi x How To Make It In America. Cudi gets his first acting reoccurring role in the HBO scripted drama “How To Make It In America.” In this video he talks about his role in the show and his future in acting.

From what we have seen, Cudi has a legit shot at a real acting career here. Of course he plays a struggling musician trying to break it to the big time so it’s not too much a stretch role for him. Via: RR

VIDEO: Common x Gatorade Super Bowl XLIV Commercial

Common x Gatorade. Common is the voice of Gatorade’s new Super Bowl commercial. We’re pretty sure they are not going to pay for a minute and a half spot during Sunday’s game since a 30 second commercial already starts at $2 million. I guess we’ll see the final version and final length on game day.

Common On Working With Gatorade:

I’ve worked with Gatorade before, but not on a commercial. This time me being part of a commercial is really exciting for me me. I’ve seen a lot of their spots lately and I’ve really been intrigued by them, they’ve really been creative… I like that whole “What’s G” and “That’s G.” It feels authentic and pure to me…

They contacted me about this particular commercial just this weekend. Because we already built a relationship they felt I’d be great for this spot they have. It’s really a soulful spot that’s gonna be shown before the Superbowl… It has a soul to it that really depicts what football is about and playing and competing with heart and soul. The visual of it shows the heart and soul of what athletes experience, specifically the football players that were in the playoffs. It shows their experience. The music behind it has a drama to it and a heart to it. When I watched the spot before I even did the recording. I was like Man! It brought emotion to me. That’s what made it soulful. I think it’s the soul of the athletes that bring out the soul of the whole piece.

Damon Dash jumps on art bandwagon with launch of Dash Art Gallery

Damon Dash jumps on art bandwagon with launch of Dash Art Gallery

Damon Dash x Dash Gallery. Talk about starving artist. If only Dame had some of his ex’s Rachel Roy clothing money. Nope. Instead Dame is getting into the art business like every other rapper these days with the launch of the Dash Gallery. The gallery will be located in Dash’s current building in the Tribeca neighborhood and is set to open to the public on Feb. 19.

Opening night is set to feature works by contemporary artists like Bobby Castaneda, Jeremy Wagner, and Hector Ruiz….none of which we are too hip to know about. No word on who the DJs will be or more important what type of appetizers they will serve. My bet is on the crab cakes. Dame loves crab cakes.

VIDEO: Pharrell & N.E.R.D.’s Behind-the-Scenes of BBC/Ice Cream Season 10 Look Book

Pharrell x BBC/ Ice Cream. Hard to imagine that Pharrell’s BBC / Ice Cream clothing lines are going on ten seasons. That’s four more seasons than Lost but BBC/Ice Cream is a lot less confusing…that’s because the clothing line doesn’t go into the past, then go into the future, then get blown up by a hydrogen bomb and split into two alternate realities forever changing life as we know it. I hate Lost. But I sure love BBC/Ice Cream. Check out the behind-the-scenes preview of their next Look Book.
