Ashanti x Written Entertainment. The First Lady of  Murder Inc. is back on the scene as she is set to launch a new reality show. Ashanti’s mom/manger ( a momager?) gave a little more insight into the pending deal.

“It’s an unscripted television show that is definitely music related. We’ll be revealing more in the coming weeks. She has her own record label, called Written Entertainment, and the show is going to revolve around her label… It’s going to be really big.”

While we are not sure how big the show will really be, early word is it will be similar to “American Idol.” Let’s just hope Ja and Irv aren’t the judges. As of now there is no footage of the show yet and there is no TV distribution deal in place so the reality is the show still has a long way to go before we ever see this hit the our TVs. Jay-Z x Skull Candy. Looks like the hip-hop headphone wars are starting to heat up. In one corner you have Jimmy, Dre, Diddy and the Monster crew pushing the premium Beats line and now in the other corner you got Jay-Z teaming up with Skull Candy for the new Roc Nation Aviator headphones at a respectable $150 price point.

Skull Candy is no stranger to hip-hop partnerships as Snoop Dogg currently has a line of headphones under their Skullcrusher line. Check the video where Cavi gives us an inside look at the Roc Nation headphones. Regardless of how they do…they look better than these Lil Wayne line “high performance” headphones.

J Dilla x Stussy. And now here is part 2 of the Stussy clothing line produced documentary on J Dilla. The integration is part of Stussy’s efforts to commemorate the artist which includes a limited edition t-shirt.

The Source unveiled their long-awaited new website this past week with little hype but lots and lots of content. It’s pretty clear the new direction that TheSource.com is trying to take as they focus more as a urban lifestyle destination vs. the hardcore hip-hop news we are so used to from the past. This includes plenty of ancillary hip-hop lifestyle sections on sneakers, fashion, culture and politics. Thing is though, some die-hard Source followers are insisting the new site looks and feels too much like current urban lifestyle web-king Complex.com.

Comparing the two sites, yea there definitely are some similarities with the layout and the overall themes but that doesn’t mean they can’t both exist together and be successful. I mean look at the Lakers and Clippers right? Wait a sec…bad example. Camby for Travis Outlaw? Are you KIDDING?

Ok anyways back to the subject. So what do you think? Smart for The Source to go the Complex route or should have they stayed true to their hardcore roots?

Rihanna x The Last Dragon. There have been a lot of rumors this past month about Rihanna accepting various roles in Hollywood films but this one is by far the most interesting. The UK’s “Daily Mirror” reports that Rihanna has accepted a role as a “X-Rated” Dominatrix in the RZA produced remake of The Last Dragon.

“She (Rihanna) has landed an incredibly challenging role alongside Samuel L Jackson. But it’s not a part for the faint-hearted. She will play a super sexy, super kinky dominatrix in martial arts flick The Last Dragon. She has been told to research the part – and this could well include a trip to an S&M dungeon,” stated the “Daily Mirror.“

Our sources over here in Hollywood can neither confirm nor deny the rumors although it is safe to say considering Rihanna’s recent daring wardrobes, the role shouldn’t be too far of a stretch for her. More news as we get it.

WoooHa has the official listing pics of Lil Wayne’s 4 bedroom, 5.5 bath Miami condo that he is currently trying to sell for $2.8 million. Even though the Miami area has been hit particularly hard by the housing downturn, $2.8 million is actually a decent price for this place which is in the exclusive Murano Grande complex. Lil Wayne actually has multiple condos he owns in Florida and contrary to other online reports, this is NOT the same condo he has had trouble selling due to the “green” smell that has turned off potential buyers. If you have $2.8 million around I’m sure they will throw in some free Young Money shirts to entice you…or maybe a date with Nicki Minaj.
