According to Rap Radar, the program is designed to empower local high school students in making positive impacts on their communities. Great! Have a white suburban kid from PA with a dubious sensitivity to racial issues talk to some black inner-city kids from Chicago. Not that what Roth said wasn’t valuable but what f-cking sense does that make?? I could tell these kids were looking at him sideways like, ‘Why is this dude even here?’ They couldn’t get Common, Ye, Twista, or (I know more realistically) Rhymefest – someone from their world that they can identify with more directly – to do this??
