Ryan Leslie x Lexus. Earlier this year we reported Ryan Leslie’s partnership with luxury automaker Lexus for their latest campaign focused on the all-new, seven-passenger GX460. The marketing strategy was great but unfortunately the car received bad reviews.

Consumer Reports magazine said that the GX carried an unusually high risk of a rollover accident during certain types of turns and issued a rare “don’t buy” warning, citing a handling problem that could lead to a rollover and possibly “serious injury or death.” Lexus, Toyota’s luxury car division, said it was “puzzled” by the magazine’s results since it conducts its own tests, and safety is a top priority. According to the New York Times Toyota announced it will temporarily stop selling the Lexus GX 460 while it conducts its own testing of the sport utility vehicle.

Though Leslie’s involvement consist of television commercials, artists might want to reconsider being associated with a product unless they do a thorough background check. Check out the jump to see the Lexus go for a test drive.
