Jaime Foxx to star in animated movie “Welcome to the Jungle”

Jaime Foxx x Welcome to the Jungle.
20th Century Fox Animation studios has just announced a joint partnership with Jaime Foxx for the animated movie Welcome to the Jungle. According to Variety, the details of the movie are still in development but Foxx signed on to star as the voice talent, producer credit and will write and perform songs for the soundtrack. So basically Foxx is attached to multiple revenue streams on this project vs. just getting paid to say lines.

“I’m psyched about ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ because it’s specifically built to utilize Jamie’s talent with voices and as a musician,” writer Malcolm  Spellman told Variety.

No release date is set for Welcome to the Jungle yet. We hope for an Axle Rose voice cameo.

PICS: Swizz Beatz to release luxury jacket collection

Swizz Beatz x Christian Louboutin. Everyone knows Swizzy has some expensive taste so it’s no surprise he is constantly shown around town flashing Louboutin kicks and jackets. Now it looks like he is taking support of the brand a step further with a Louboutin inspired jacket collection. No word yet if the luxury fashion designer is personally involved but it makes me want to put one of these suckers on and re-enact scenes from MJ’s “Beat It.” Via: Cavi

BET signs on Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit to produce new TV show & movie

Queen Latifah x Flavor Unit x BET. If you want to know how rapper turned actors like Ice Cube and Queen Latifah are able to make so much money in Hollywood it’s really quite simple…they have an active TV and film production company that develops projects not just for the artists themselves but for all types of programming. Cube has his Cubevision Productions and Latifah has her Flavor Unit Entertainment.

Adding more money to Latifah’s already large money pot, her production company has just signed a deal with BET to develop their first scripted TV show called “Let’s Stay Together” for the beginning of 2011 and the made-for-TV movie The Cookout 2. Latifah will not be starring in the show or the movie but will still be collecting the paychecks as exec producer. Now that is the ultimate businesswoman right there.

Young Money’s Gudda Gudda launches Guddaville.com

Gudda Gudda x Guddaville.com.
Although not a household name like other Young Money members Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj, Gudda Gudda is stepping up his digital marketing game with the official launch of Guddaville.com. The site is your standard Ning format with the typical blog, social networking features and videos. Since a lot of people don’t know Gudda Gudda it would be nice if he had a personal blog vs. the typical fan generated content but hey…at least he’s trying to get his name out there. That’s gudda gudda in my book.

VIDEO: Rappers & athletes to follow, the first iPad car installation

This would have been a sure thing for Xzibit’s “Pimp My Ride” if it was still around. Here is the first auto installation of an iPad by SoundMan Car Audio. Expect a crap load of calls from every rapper and athlete around wanting to get this in their car. But is it actually practical to use in a moving vehicle? No…but neither was a fish tank in the back seat or an X-box in the trunk. It looks cool. Bottom line. Via: TSS
