Ice Cube x TBS. TBS and Ice Cube’s Cube Vision have signed a 10 episode sitcom deal based off of Ice Cube’s 2005 film Are We There Yet? TBS, the same network who won the battle for Conan O’Brien was in an intense bidding war against the USA Network and BET. The deal is similar to the Tyler Perry comedies “House of Payne” and “Meet the Browns” as the television network will initially pick up 10 episodes of the series with an option for 90 more. The film Are We There Yet? grossed more then $82 million at the box office and the sitcom will continue to be produced by Ice Cube’s company Cube Vision. The rapper will occasionally appear in the series but not as the same character. Check out the show when it premieres in June.

First Queen Latifah locks that TV deal & now this. Latifah and Cube with their production companies seem to be the most consistent. But now for their music? I doubt Cube is going to hit big numbers on his next album.
